Teaching To excellence The Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2015 Teaching to Excellence Event on Thursday, August 20 at the Regent. We celebrated our local Teachers of the Year and their Principals, as well as welcomed New Teachers working here in the greater Riv-erview community. In addition to the delicious hot breakfast and comradery, each teacher left the event with a large tote bag filled with school supplies, thanks to the generosity of our members. The event was attended by nearly 400 teachers, administrators, and local business owners. Many thanks to all of our sponsors and volunteers, particularly Sam’s Club #4801, The Miss Buckle-Up Princess Foundation, Inc., CenterState Bank, South Bay Hospital, The Mosaic Company, The Regent, HCC @ The Regent, Jake Raburn, Florida House of Representatives District 57 and Suncoast Credit Union.

President’s Message:As we finish up the 3rd quarter, stop, reflect and do a self/business assessment…
Are you getting closer to accomplishing your 2015 goals? How’s business? There’s still time to reach those goals.
It’s hard to imagine how fast this year is going. Still ahead; October – Trick or Treat Street, November – Thanksgiving, and December – Christmas.
It’s not too late to jump on board with the Trick or Treat Street committee or get a booth at the event. If you have any questions, comments, or ideas please give the chamber a call…
Then with the New Year quickly approaching we will be celebrating our Chamber’s 50th Anniversary. Get ready for some fun…
Until next month…God Bless you and God Bless America,
Jennifer

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Brandon is forming an evening group in Riverview. This group is geared towards work-
ing people who are unable to meet at the usual meeting times, who prefer to meet less often due to busy lives, but still
want to participate in community service and be part of a great organization.
What is Kiwanis?
Kiwanis is for individuals who desire personal involvement in the leadership and improvement of our community. The
major focus of Kiwanis is on youth, and we have many different projects that target our community’s young people.
The Riverview group will have the opportunity to identify new areas of need and come up with their own service pro-
jects.
