Corpus Christi Celebrates the Sacrament of Confirmation
On Friday, February 24, 2017 Corpus Christi parish celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation with 46 young men and
women being Confirmed in the Holy Spirit.
Bishop Robert J. Guglielmone was present to confer our Class of 2017 and he exhorted the group to “proclaim God’s
marvelous deeds” in all that they do. He explained that we are not alone as we strive to live out our faith. Referencing
the Gospel reading for the Mass the bishop reminded the gathering that the Father has sent forth the Holy Spirit to help
us on our journey, however we need to use these gifts to bring God’s kingdom to this world.
Father Ray and the Religious Education Office would like to thank the parents, guardians and sponsors who helped
prepare the confirmandi. Additionally, we express our most sincere gratitude for all of the hard work, time and
dedication of our volunteer catechists: Jeff Hemming, Lori Long, Trudy Svrcek and Rob Watts. We also wish to thank
Gordon Oswald, Director of Youth Ministry and Dana Crumpton, Assistant Director of Youth Ministry.

The Stations of the Cross Every Friday During Lent, Including Good Friday
At 7:00 PM
The Stations of the Cross bring us closer to Christ as we meditate
on the great love He showed for us in His most sorrowful Passion!
The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that
commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man. The 14
devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day,
beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly
used as a mini pilgrimage as the individual moves from station to
station. At each station, the individual recalls and meditates on a
specific event from Christ's last day. Specific prayers are recited,
then the individual moves to the next station until all 14 are
complete. The stations are most commonly prayed during Lent
on Wednesdays and Fridays, and especially on Good Friday, the
day of the year upon which the events actually occurred.
Lenten Penance Service at Corpus
Christi Thursday, March 16th, at 7:00 p.m. We will have eight
priests available to hear confessions.
Corpus Christi Pastoral Council is a nine-member body that serves the church pastor in the
objective of spiritual growth of the parish. The Council works in close collaboration with the pastor and
other ministries and is a consultative body that through its insights, expertise and feedback from the parish
offers counsel and ideas to the pastor and facilitates implementation of the pastor’s plans for the parish.
The Council meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month except June and July. The Pastoral Council also plans the Parish
picnic held in October each year with the assistance of several other ministries at Corpus Christi.
Current members include President, Mark Svrcek; Secretary, Jill Menhart; Joanne Hoover, Vickie McClure, Ann-Marie Lewis,
