DressJust like other sports, golf has a dress code. It is similar to a football strip or other clothing you would wear to take part in an activity.
Golf is full of tradition and as such it demands certain standards when it comes to what the players wear and how they act. These standards are known as etiquette and it's something that golf is well known for.
SmartGolf wear is modern, stylish and smart, this is a guide to help you understand what's generally accepted at golf clubs and what's not.
Shirts - Long or short sleeved, they should have a collar. The shirt should always remain tucked in.
Trousers and shorts - Should be smart casuals, what's known as tailored and similar to what you would wear as part of a school uniform.
Shoes - Best to get some golf shoes as they give support and grip. Most golf shoes also offer some waterproofing to keep your feet dry.
Hats, caps and visors - Baseball style caps are very popular and come in many different designs. The important things to remember are to always take your cap off when you go into the clubhouse
rDenim jeans, football kits, tracksuits, collarless t-shirts
are usually not acceptable at most private clubs.

rYou must tell your partners and opponents exactly what
ball you're playing with at all times.
IdentityGolf balls have lots of different markings on them, they will have the manufacturers brand and they might have the model name and a number.
The number allows players to play with the same make of ball but just with a different number on it so they know it's
theirs.
What would happen if someone playing a different hole hits their ball close to yours and they are exactly the same make, model and number?
The rules of golf state that you must be able to identify your ball, but in this instance it is not possible so you would have to take a penalty of 1 stroke and go back to where you
played your last stroke from.
One way of avoiding this is to put your own special markings onto the ball you are going to play with.
This way you will always know which is your ball and you won't have to add on any unwanted penalty shots to your score.
12
Tee the ball up so the middle of the ball is in line with the top edge of your golf club.
Irons
The irons have numbers on them and these numbers tell the player how far they
will hit the ball.
The higher the number the higher the ball will fly and the shorter the shot will be.
Each of your clubs will send the ball a maximum distance and you have to judge how far you want to hit the ball and then select the right club.
r
DriveOn a longer hole, you will probably want
to drive your ball as far down the fairway as you can. The 1 Wood
or Driver as it is known is the longest hitting
club in
When you're practising, make a note of how far you are hitting each club.
