ABOUT TEMPO MILWAUKEE

TEMPO MIlwaukee is a professional women's organization that connects its 425 members who holdCEO, executive and senior leadership positions with one another and the community. Its mission is tofurther the impact of women leaders in Milwaukee. TEMPO Milwaukee provides members with theopportunity to network with leaders and future leaders and enhance their awareness of issues andtrends having an impact on Milwaukee and the business community. TEMPO Milwaukee serves itsdiverse membership and community through educational programming, networking opportunities,relationship building, and mentoring, with the goal of empowering women to achieve and sustainleadership roles.

In 2015, TEMPO Milwaukee introduced its Emerging Women Leaders (EWL) initiative. EWL is composedof 230+ of Milwaukee's rising stars and high-achievers, locally recognized, community-minded changemakers and inclusive up-and-coming leaders. They are future TEMPO Milwaukee members andrepresent the next generation of leadership in their industries, functions and city. EWL members haveaccess to a multitude of benefits including professional development, community involvement, andsocial and networking events. EWL members can also receive individual mentoring by TEMPOMilwaukee members and/or from their peers in a small group setting.

At TEMPO Milwaukee, we ADVOCATE, ELEVATE and ACCELERATE women leaders in Milwaukee.

ABOUT THE LEADERSHIP EVENT

2020 marks 15 years of TEMPO Milwaukee’s signature event – The Leadership Event. The LeadershipEvent highlights women and men in leadership, including their empowering and significant successstories. This event provides an opportunity for attendees to receive inspiration and guidance fromwomen and men in leadership roles as they have navigated the sometimes rocky and uphill battles andoffer the perspective from someone who has "been there, done that."

The Leadership Event provides an opportunity for attendees to enhance their leadership skills with keytakeaways they can bring back and incorporate into how they lead their organizations and thecommunity. TEMPO Milwaukee believes women are the driving force behind successful companies andcommunities, and through the Leadership Event provides another opportunity to build alliances anddiscover how other successful leaders have achieved their goals.

The annual event provides leaders in our community the opportunity to gather around topics thatpropel leadership skills to the next level. The event attracts approximately 800-900 businessprofessionals, 85% female, 15% male.

The purpose of the TEMPO MIlwaukee Leadership Event is to provide a premier leadership andprofessional development experience to the Milwaukee business community. Featuring Gabrielle Union

After a career in front of the camera spanning nearly three decades, actress, author and activistGabrielle Union, continues to bring iconic performances on and off screen. Most recently starring inthe Spectrum Original series, L.A.'s Finest, Gabrielle is known for her roles in films such as Good Deeds,Cadillac Records, The Perfect Holiday, Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls, Running with Scissors, Bad BoysII, Universal's cult hit Bring It On, Love & Basketball, Ten Things I Hate About You, and She's All That. Onthe small screen, the UCLA graduate previously starred on the BET hit series, Being Mary Jane and onDisney Junior’s The Lion Guard. Gabrielle’s passion for acting is rivaled by her involvement as an activist who works on issues aroundwomen's health, violence against women, racism, and gender inequality. She is an Ambassador for theSusan G. Komen Foundation, an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and an active supporter of the YoungSurvivor Coalition (YSC) and the Rape Treatment Center (RTC) at UCLA. In her free time, Gabrielleoften travels on behalf of Susan G. Komen and the YSC to share her story of losing a friend to BreastCancer. In 2004, Gabrielle helped found a program called “A Step for Success”, which helps to raisefunds for the economically challenged Kelso Elementary School in Los Angeles. Nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work, Gabrielle is the author of The New York Times Bestseller, We’re Going to Need More Wine. Her memoir features a powerful collection of essays about personal, thought provoking stories and reflections on a range of topics that continue to define the contemporary landscape: race, gender, feminism, sexuality, marriage, beauty and fame.

Gabrielle and her husband, former Miami Heat Player Dwyane Wade, currently split their time between Los Angeles and Miami.
