No breakup threat with Sena,Govt will complete 5 yrs: Fadnavis
NEW DELHI, Oct 17:Amid tensions in the BJP-
Shiv Sena alliance, MaharashtraChief Minister DevendraFadnavis today ruled out anythreat to his Government, assert-ing that Shiv Sena will not walkout and his dispensation willcomplete full five years term.
Fadnavis said there is no situ-ation where Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena and BJP have topart ways.
“I am 100 per cent sure. Idon’t think the Sena will walkout. Our Government will run forfive years,” Fadnavis told RajatShamra in Aap Ki Adalat.
His comments come in wakeof the rising tensions between thetwo allies with Shiv Sena forcingthe cancellation of Pakistanighazal maestro Ghulam Ali’sconcert in Mumbai.
The ink-attack by ShivSainiks on ORF’s SudheendraKulkarni for hosting a book-launch event of former Pakistan
Foreign Minister KhurshidMahmud Kasuri added to the bit-terness between the two allies asFadnavis slammed the alliancepartner for the act and providedsecurity to ensure that event goeswell, a move that irked the Sena.
“I don’t think we havereached any serious point wherewe will part ways. There is nosuch situation at all. We had aCabinet meeting this weekattended by the Shiv Sena minis-ters. We also had informal meet-ings after that. So, please removethe notion from your mind thatUddhavji is going to announcewithdrawal of support onOctober 22. The Government isnot going to fall and completefull five years term,” Fadnavissaid.
The Shiv Sena will holdannual Dasara rally in Mumbaion October 22 in which UddhavThackeray is expected to declareparty’s future course of action.(PTI)
