ALMOST TIME FOR C.A.M.P.(the 57th annual!)
Come August 5–11, 2012, as young people stream into the Resident CampingArea of Tar Hollow, it will be the opening of the 57th annual C.A.M.P. Whichstands for CONSTRUCTING ASSURED & MOTIVATED PEOPLE. This multiaward-winning youth program is a faith-based (but completely interdenominational)
camp for young people grades 6 throughrecent H.S. grads. The campers sleep in logcabins in the Tar Hollow Forrest with acounselor/camper ration of at least one toseven. They swim, fish, and boat in abeautiful little lake (now sporting a brandnew waterslide!) Over 20 areas of interestare offered by means of both morning and
afternoon classes, such as Sports of all kinds, Rappelling, Crafts, Drama, Choir,Band, Art, Photography, Nature, Journalism, and more. Many other growthopportunities are offered by means of the “Trail-Blazing” Classes and othermotivational programming. All classes are taught by qualified instructors.
C.A.M.P. has received awards of merit from: Parents Magazine, SuccessfulMeetings Magazine, from several Ohio mayors, two Governors of Ohio, and evenfrom United States’ President H. W. Bush. However, Dave and Janny Brizius, founding directors of C.A.M.P., feel that the most important “award” they receiveeach year is the fact that their entire staff returns on a volunteer basis year after yearto “pay back “for what they received as campers themselves. (Nearly the entire staffwere former campers themselves.) It is because of this volunteer staff that thismagnificent program can be offered for just $215.00 per camper for the entireweek! That amount covers not just room and board, but a camp t-shirt, campphoto, supplies for all classes, treats, field trips, and more!
To register your youngsters for C.A.M.P., go to www.sfacamp.org and followthe prompts. For more information feel free to call the Brizius at (614) 778-1705.Not much time left! Hurry!

SMITTY’S AUTO SALESA WISE CHOICE IN THESE TOUGH TIMES.
Before moving back to the hills, Boonie and I never ever thought about buyinganything but a new car. However, that was before we met Tom Smith. Tom andtwo of his kids became involved with Magic Waters Theatre, and we also got toknow him and his family at church.
At one point, we had some severe car problems, and seemingly everyonesuggested that we should check with Tom about a previously owned car. So, westarted out by checking out his car lot. Wow ! He had some really nice looking cars!Ultimately, we started talking “trade” with him, and we ended up with a car thatserved us well for many years. Since then we have bought several more cars fromhim, as have other members of our family. Tom stands behind the cars that he sells, and frankly, I doubt if we will ever go anywhere else for a “new” car!
You will find his car lot (Smitty’s Auto Sales) just as you enter Greenfield fromeither Route 753S or 138. (Address reads South 7th Street). If you are at allthinking about trading cars, check out Smitty’s. You’ll find cars of all prices and anhonest person selling them!!!

Though this great festival in Greenfield has gonethrough a number of names, it has finally settled onone from a while back, and this writer thinks thatthey have chosen well “The Greene CountrieTowne Festival” will take place on July 20, 21 and22 on the streets of Greenfield. Greenfield’s founderand his followers are attributed to calling this fairvillage, the “Greene Countrie Towne”, and it certainly is a charming description ofa special place in the hearts of many who grew up there. But I’m surely glad it gotshortened for everyday use to “Greenfield”. ‘Twood have been a mouthful to haveto say, “I’m headed into the Greene Countrie Towne to the post office..”
Whatever the name of the festival, it’s a good one, and one that benefits thecommunity many times over! Sponsored by the Greenfield Rotary, all profits fromthe festival go right back into that wonderful organization’s many local charities. The main profit comes from the huge auction on Saturday which features itemswhich have been donated for this great cause by many local businesses andindividuals, the main item of the auction being the limited prints of specialGreenfield landmarks by Tammy Wells. Don’t miss the auction! Take a bit of timeaway from the fun times at the festival and stop by to see what you’d like to buy atthe auction. Sometimes there are some great bargains! This auction is the thingthat sets Greenfield’s festival apart from all of the other festivals!
