~ Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time ~

Bishop Barres

This weekend we welcome His Excellency, Bishop John Barres, for his first visit to Saint Martha Parish to celebrate the

12:30 Mass. Bishop Barres is spending his first weeks as our new Ordinary traveling the Diocese and visiting the people

and parishes. We hope this is the first of many visits to us here in Uniondale. As the bishop said in his homily at his

Mass of Installation (which was reprinted in the bulletin a few weeks ago), he wants each of us by Ash Wednesday to

invite one relative or friend who has been away from the Church to come with us to Mass and to see the joy our faith

gives. If you have not already done so, you have about 10 days left!

V Encuentro

The members of our core Encuentro team have been hard at work these past weeks preparing for the heart of the Encuen-

tro process for our parish this year, which will be 5 weekly prayer sessions during Lent. These will be followed by an all

-day Parish Encuentro event on Saturday May 6. More information on the Encuentro process can be found in the bulle-

tin as we enter into Lent as well as the USCCB V Encuentro website (vencuentro.org).

Lent

The schedule for Lent is being finalized and will be in next weeks bulletin. There will be no outside parish-wide mis-

sion this year, but we will do some things in house. The date for the Annual Volunteer Retreat Day is Saturday March

18. More information will follow. Also, please mark Sunday, June 4th (Pentecost Sunday) on your calendars for the

Annual Volunteer Thank-you party.

Monseigneur Barres, vque

Nous accueillons ce week-end Son Excellence Monseigneur John Barres sa premire visite la Paroisse de Sainte Mar-

tha pour clbrer la messe de Midi et demie. Monseigneur Barres consacre ses premires semaines comme notre nouvel

Ordinaire du Diocse voyager et visiter les gens et les paroisses. Nous esprons que ce sera la premire de plusieurs

visites ici Uniondale. Comme il la dit dans son homlie sa Messe dInstallation (qui a t reproduite dans le bulletin

il y a quelques semaines), il voudrait que chacun de nous, avant le Mercredi des Cendres, invite un parent ou un ami qui

ne frquente plus lglise venir avec nous la messe pour voir la joie que notre foi nous procure. Si vous ne l'avez pas

dj fait, il vous reste une dizaine de jours!

V Encuentro

Les membres de notre quipe principale Encuentro ont travaill dur ces dernires semaines pour prparer lessentiel du

programme Encuentro dans notre paroisse cette anne, qui comprendra 5 sances hebdomadaires de prires pendant le

Carme. Ce sera suivi dune Journe Paroissiale de Rencontre le Samedi 6 Mai. Vous trouverez des informations sup-

plmentaires sur le processus Encuentro pendant le Carme, ainsi que sur le site Web V Encuentro de la Confrence des

vques Catholiques des Etats-Unis (vencuentro.org).

Carme

Lhoraire du Carme est presque finalis et sera publi dans le bulletin la semaine prochaine. Il ny aura pas de mission parois-

siale officielle cette anne, mais nous aurons des activits la maison. La Journe Annuelle de Retraite pour les Volontaires

aura lieu le Samedi 18 Mars. Plus de dtails suivront. De mme, marquez svp le Dimanche 4 Juin (Dimanche de la Pentecte)

sur vos calendriers, date de la fte Annuelle pour dire Merci aux Volontaires.

Obispo Barres

Este fin de semana damos la bienvenida a Su Excelencia el Obispo John Barres por su primer visita a la parroquia de Santa

Martha el cual celebrar la Misa de las 12:30. El Obispo Barres pasar sus primeras semanas como nuestro nuevo Ordinario

viajando por la Dicesis y visitando a las personas y parroquias. Esperamos que esta sea la primera de muchas visitas a no-

sotros aqu en Uniondale. Como dijo el obispo en su homila en la Misa de Instalacin (que se reimprimi en el boletn hace

unas semanas), quiere que cada uno de nosotros el Mircoles de Ceniza invite a un pariente o amigo que ha estado alejado de

la Iglesia para venir con nosotros a la misa y ver el gozo que da nuestra fe. Si an no lo ha hecho, le quedan unos 10 das!

V Encuentro

Los miembros de nuestro ncleo del equipo Encuentro han estado trabajado duro estas semanas preparando el proceso

del Encuentro para nuestra parroquia este ao, que insistir en 5 sesiones de oracin semanales durante la Cuaresma. Ms in-

formacin sobre el proceso de Encuentro se puede encontrar en el boletn a medida que entramos en Cuaresma, as como en el

sitio web de USCCB V Encuentro (vencuentro.org).

Cuaresma

El calendario para la Cuaresma est siendo finalizado y estar en el boletn de la prxima semana. Este ao no habr ninguna

misin fuera de la parroquia, pero haremos algunas cosas aqu "en casa". La fecha para el Da del Retiro Voluntario Anual es el

Sbado 18 de Marzo. Ms informacinse dar ms adelante. Tambin marque el Domingo 4 de Junio (Domingo de Pente-

costs) en sus calendarios para la fiesta de agradecimiento anual del Voluntario.
