OverviewThis conference is designed to provide state of the art information and best practice guidelines in the treatment of acute and chronic wounds. Both medical and surgical management strategies to optimize wound healing will be addressed.

ObjectivesThe goal of this symposium is to provide a comprehensive overview on the treatment of wound care-related issues and innovations in the field. Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Understand the link of bioburden to wound chronicity

• Understand treatment protocols for osteomyelitis

• Examine the role that venous reflux disease has in lower extremity wounds

• Differentiate between dermatitis, vasculitis and rashes

• Identify new International Wound Guidelines for Diabetic Foot (IWGDF)

• Compare and contrast various wound dressing choices

• Review new clinical guidelines for pressure injuries

• Identify nutrition interventions that optimize wound healing

Who Should Attend?This course is intended for physicians, nurses, physical therapists, podiatrists, advanced practice providers and all clinicians involved in wound healing or wound care issues. Course material will benefit both novice and experienced clinicians.
