WO MpeileTalane, police spokesperson, said the arrest was made at 69 Church Street, Brits at around 15:00. The suspect – who ap- peared brefore the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 23 September – was in the house when the police arrived and searched the house. They discovered dagga and rock (crack cocaine) KLGGHQ XQGHUQHDWK D ÀRZHUSRW 7KH\ FRQ¿VFDWHG the drugs and detained the suspect in the Brits Police Station’s holding cells. Talane said the street value of the dagga is estimated at R800 while the rock is valued at R1300. Johan Marx, Brits Cluster Commander, took part in this arrest by visiting the scene and outlined that he is highly impressed with the performance of Brits Cluster Police members with the outstanding work that is being executed on a daily basis. He voiced his appreciation and gratitude for the many men and women who have committed themselves to pro- tecting the communities they serve. Rustenburg/ Koster – Four suspects ap- peared before the Koster Magistrates’ Court for the second time on Monday, 21 September 2015 on murder charges. Michael Kenosi (22), Mahomed Dikhudu (24), Thabo Mokete (24) and Alex Tjempe (31) were remanded in police custody until their next court appearance. Koster detectives arrested the suspects in con- nection with the murder of a Chinese national who was brutally hammered to death in January 2015. The Chinese business man was attacked by four suspects in the back room of his busi- ness premises in Koster. The suspects were traced by the detectives and one of them was tracked to Pimville, Soweto. Major General William Mpembe, Rustenburg Cluster Commander, congratulated the team for their tireless efforts to crack the case. “We are protecting the right to life and putting equal efforts when investigating crime as well as mak- ing sure that perpetrators are brought to book, on cases affecting both foreign nationals and South African citizens as every human being is equal before the law,” Mpembe said. Hartbeespoortdam – The Hartbeespoortdam police discovered a human skull and bones on the Magalies Mountain in Hartbeespoortdam policing precinct on Saturday, 19 September 2015. W/O Mpeile Talane, police spokesperson, said next to the skull was a small worn-out carrying bag with a cell phone and car keys. About two metres away, was pants with a wallet containing an Australian driver’s licence. Talane said the skull was discovered by one of the employees of a company situated near the mountain where the skull was found while wan- dering around monitoring the area. He made the discovery and reported the matter to his employer who engaged the police to the scene. The police sent the skeleton for a post-mortem analysis with the intent of establishing the iden- tity of the bones, even though Mr Johan C. Classen (61) was reported missing at Hartbee- spoortdam Police Station in January 2012. He had dual citizenship of Australia and South Africa, and was allegedly in South Africa, vis- iting his brother when he went missing on 15 January of that year.
