E-safety procedures for training The Alliance has e-safety procedures for its Alliance managed childcare settings. (See procedure 6.10) The following procedure adds to this e-safety guidance, giving interpretation in relation to Training services. Please see also Learners, their Work and Studies Policy and Procedure. You may use your own ICT equipment in learning sessions. For example a laptop or tablet for preparing evidence for assessment or for course related research. Tutors and assessors are responsible for ensuring that ICT equipment in use in learning and assessment situations is used only for its intended purpose. If a tutor or assessor asks you to turn off your ICT equipment you must do as she or he asks. The Learners, their Work and Studies Policy and Procedure lays down the Alliance’s expectations with regard to learners’ behaviour towards others. This applies whatever means of communications is used i.e. from direct face-to-face communication, to less direct but public media, for example social networking sites. The use of personal mobile phones is also addressed in the Learners, their Work and Studies document. Learners are responsible for the protection and security of their own ICT equipment. Alliance owned ICT equipment has virus protection installed.
