    General description and functio-

ning of the system clino phon 99

With clino phon 99 Ackermann clino

provides a call system with speech

support. clino phon 99, the extended

proven call system clino opt 99,

enables the staff to make contact with

    the patient without being physically

    with them.

Personal speech contact can thus be

made quickly at any time; waiting

times are reduced to a minimum. Thenursing staff can receive the patient's

request and - without first visiting the

patient - deal with it immediately. That

creates time for a personal word. The

area of application for clino phon 99

    stretches from senior residences and

    nursing homes to rehabilitation

centres to hospitals and clinics. The

    opportunity for voice communication

enables their care organisation to be

    considerably more efficient.

The infrastructure of clino phon 99

builds on the bus structures of the

system clino opt 99. The zone control-

ler serves as a control unit for the

zone databus. Within a ward the room

    terminals, or electronic modules if

any, serve as the control units for the

room. For the special requirements of

the care services in the duty room,

the master station is available, via

    which general announcements or

    organisational functions such as call

forwarding to neighbouring wardscan be realised.

The configuration of the system is carried out easily from a central PC or, in

small systems, by means of the proven configuration module. clino phon 99

has a multiplicity of system interfaces. Apart from the classic connection of

paging systems, DECT systems can also be connected to clino phon 99.

According to the system design and installed clino phon 99 equipment the

staff is able to use cordless DECT phones for answering patient calls.

Easy operation and more comfort - the patient handset

Coordinated with the requirements of the patients and residents, the patient

handset clino phon 99 serves as a multifunctional device in hospitals, clinics

and other care institutions. Equipped with a large call button with orientation

light and reassurance lamp as well as clearly organised function keys, user-

friendly operation of the device is of prime importance.

Up to 2 light sources, as well as Venetian blinds and other device functions

are easily controlled by means of the patient handset - here the menu key

provides for function selection. The TV / radio control via the programme

selection and volume control buttons incl. the ON/OFF button is based on

the traditional infra-red remote control, as a result of which the user quickly

loses any apprehension. The selected TV or radio programme is indicated

on the split display - in standby mode the current time is displayed. The

sound of the current TV or radio programme is reproduced via the integra-

ted loudspeaker or via an optional headset connected to the patient

    handset.

If the user releases a call, the nursing staff can make contact with them

directly. The nurse call conversation is set up initially in the hands-free

speech mode via the higher-ranking bed module and can be continued in

discreet mode, by means of the menu key, via the loudspeaker and the

microphone of the patient handset. Thus the private sphere of the patient is

    protected in multi-bed rooms.

With the easy to clean surface and the splash-proof protected housing, the

patient handset is optimally adapted to daily use in care situations. In addi-

tion, in order to prevent the device cable from being ripped off, connection

to the bed module is made by means of the proven auto-release plug. If the

patient handset is not needed, it is parked in a bracket on the wall or on the

    bedside table.
