A Piece of Art Engineered into a Home

Over 5,000 square feet situated on over three acres, 719 Still Meadow Lane is best described as both “prairie postmodern” and “Frank Lloyd Wright meets his Asian counterpart.” The design nods to Wright with

horizontal lines, deep eaves, an open and flexible floor plan, and the mixed use of stone and wood. Akin to Japanese architecture, large windows throughout the house create a strong connection to the

beautifully landscaped property, including a koi pond with three waterfalls.

The pre–construction mission statement for this one–of–a–kind, custom home reads in part: “The sun floods through many windows, both eye level and clerestory; it reflects off the wood casements

and burnishes the interior surfaces. The pervasive natural light partners with near–invisible recessed lights and striking accent fixtures to highlight art and furnishings while suffusing the home with warmth.”

Mission accomplished! The entry dramatically changes from day to night, beautifully transforming the forged bronze door, the Cumaru hardwoods, and the brushed steel I–beams with their copper rivets.

Exceptional touches are at every turn, including lit art niches and one–of–a–kind lighting. Enjoy unending views as you relax by the living room fireplace and watch the reflection of the

koi pond dance off the dining room’s drop circle ceiling and custom chandelier.

The kitchen is open to all the main rooms for optimal entertaining. Brushed steel and light cherry custom cabinets echo the feel of the beams and natural woods throughout these rooms. Appliances include

a Sub–Zero refrigerator, Miele ovens, Wolf industrial–grade range, and Fisher & Paykel two–drawer dishwasher. The huge center island has full–size drawers on both sides, and a separate unit contains a wine cooler,

wine rack, and sink. Countertops are tan brown granite and mahogany.

Indoors blends seamlessly with outdoors through the use of like–materials, such as the stone façades and steel mantles used on the dual Rumford fireplaces

in the family room and screened porch. The family room features a contemporary coffered ceiling with recessed lighting, while the screened porch is a bit more rustic

with rough cedar walls and a stone floor.

The main–level master suite is all about a bit of self–indulgence. Custom silk drapes and shades frame picturesque views, and pendants stretch from the vaulted ceiling to keep bedside tables free.

The master closet has abundant shelving and drawers, and features an incredible packing island. The spa–like master bathroom has a square BainUltra jetted tub, heated tile, and an open–entry shower

with gorgeous tile and three shower heads. A full–length mirror opens into a huge medicine cabinet.

Other main–level rooms include a handsome office with built–in mahogany bookshelves and file drawers. Vaulted and bright with windows on all four sides, the office has amazing outdoor views. The home gym features a rubber floor and plenty of room for equipment.

A nearby full bathroom with a walk–in shower is perfect for after–workout cooldowns. The media room/home theater is equipped with surround sound, projector, and screen.

Illuminated stairs and a landing with an exposed stone chimney lead to an additional bedroom and office. Enjoy stunning views down to the main level and out to the property from the bedroom. The private bathroom

has a walk–in shower and a huge vanity with a sitting area. The office has built–in bookshelves, file drawers, and a corner desk with an unobstructed outdoor view. A wall of windows and a skylight keep this room

naturally bright, and a bridge leads outside to an open deck constructed of cable and Ipe walnut.

From the moment you pull up the expansive flagstone–accented drive, you will feel yourself relax and become one with the sprawling natural beauty of this incredible property.

Day or night, the sounds of the gurgling koi pond and the wildlife just outside your door (not to mention the amazing shadows and light falling on the house and grounds)

will remind you why this home is so special.
