‘I guess it started off when I was about 4 years old, I began to baby model, I can’t remem-ber much of it, but what I was told was, that I loved to sing, my mother told me, I would sit in front of a mirror, right before I had to have my shoot, start brushing my hair get bored and start singing into the brush as if it was a microphone. So once I was at school and they was forming this singing group, oh gosh don’t look at me I’m going red with embarrassment [laughter] and they chose me to be the lead singer, it was really funny because when I was young I was really chubby and geeky, but when I started to sing everyone’s mouth dropped.’

‘As I was only young it didn’t really grab my attention on the talent that I actually had, so in primary school I was chosen to sing along with the play Kazandera Gang Books [laughter] and I was chosen for the lead role, it was weird how it all happened as I didn’t really have much of an audition, whereas most of the other students had to have call backs, it was if it was given to me. I can remember me and my mom sitting down in the evening after doing my homework and she finished her work we would just sing songs together, whether it was song that came on with adverts or songs that would come on the radio [smiles] it was really a good time, I’m so thankful for her helping me through it 100%.’

‘As I grew older I seemed to grow out of singing, if that makes sense, does that make sense?, yer i dunno. But in a way it was as if wasn’t as important to me, Until one day when I was probably in year 9 when I could hear a song coming from the music room from the play that I did when I was younger, it was funny because it was as if the music we both liked and at the time it was was bringing me closer, kind of like how a child moves towards the warmth of their parents, I pushed open the door in excitement to see this Korean girl called Sharice singing the song in a booth type of thing, like the ones in studios but

nowhere near as big budgeted. Me and her got talking and we both went through a lot as we grew up when it came to music and we shared a lot of the same views, she wanted to see the talent that I actually had so we chose a song that umbrella by Rihanna, within 15 minutes we had recorded the song, and we wanted to know some peoples opinions, but we was both too shy to ask any one in school, so we posted the song onto this blog, we got around about 420 thousand views within about 24 hours and some from record producers, and tinie tempah, who sent us an email to see us both and perform with him at one of his upcom-ing concerts, it was strange about how fast it all happened. Within a week we were sitting in his studio making beats and recording lyrics for back-ing tracks, truly mind blowing. Like even when I think back of it now [lost for words] wow.

I guess since then, I’ve had none stop calls from people wanting to work with, and bea-uame [laughter] and I’m just so grateful for how everything has worked out for me.

Clearly this wasn’t an ordinary girl, at such a young age had

the power to be able to captures people’s attention, and then wanting to carry

on listening to her, truly remarkable.
