The three wise men

The three Wise Men were three men who travelled to Bethlehem to visit Jesus after his birth.

They brought some gifts, gold, frankincense and myrrh. We can call them as The Magic or The Three Wise Men from the East having a special connection with Christianity. The Men are called as Melchor, Gaspar and Balthazar. They are identified with three different continents: Melchor represents Europe, Balthazar with Africa and finally Gaspar represents Asia. In Spain children receive presents by the three Wise Men on the night of January sixth. One day

The Spanish people celebrate the tradition of the THREE WISE MEN:

The story begins like that:

One baby , called Jesus was born in a stable of Bethlehem one city in the Middle East .

When he was born the three wise men brought:

-MELCHOR: gold

-GASPAR: frankincense

-BALTAZAR: myrrh

There is a tradition the night of 5th January: they leave present s under the Christmas tree to the children, who previouly have written one letter with presents they love.

Many years ago the baby Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

The three wise men travel through middle east and a star guided them to give presents for the baby king. They give gold, myrrh and frankincense.

Nowadays, the festivity is celebrated on 6th January: the three wise men give presents to the good people and coal to the bad people. For me is the best day of the year.

At present, people celebrate Christmas as a festivity. They put a Christmas tree and a Nativity scene for Jesus. They celebrate a

procession, too. In the procession the three

wise men go in a float.

The procession is the night of 5th January. When the children are

sleeping the three wise men bring presents.
