$2,500 for St. Jude’s Hospital. “The lodge was able to raise
money for a very worthy cause that is
dear to our heart. We are so thankful to
everyone who participated and volun-
teered their time to make this possi-
ble,” said Ron Bergquist, Jr., the Ad-
ministrator of the Greeneville Lodge.
Avery Armstrong, an 11-year-old, was
diagnosed with leukemia at the age of
4. He was accompanied to the presen-

On November 16, 2018, the Greeneville Moose Lodge was honored to host Supreme
Governor, Harry Johnston. During his visit, he presented retired Greeneville Police
Department detective, Stewart Kilgore, with a check for the Shop with a Cop
program. The money was raised through donations made by the WOTM Chapter
1598 and LOOM 692 members. This annual event helps disadvantaged children by
pairing them uniformed officers for an all expense paid shopping trip to Wal-Mart.
The children are referred to the program through schools, churches and other civic
programs in the community. Over 500 children participate each year.
John Frost was honored with a Valued Veterans Certificate of Appreciation and pin
from Supreme Governor, Harry Johnston. “I joined the Valued Veterans program
after a WOTM member suggested I do so, and I am very grateful to be a part of this
program,” said Mr. Frost. After the ceremony, John enjoyed a complimentary
dinner in the company of the LOOM officers. He has been a Moose member since
1995 and is a Vietnam War Veteran.
The Supreme Governor was accompanied to the Greeneville Lodge by Deputy Supreme Governor Daniel
Humphreys, Deputy Supreme Governor James Caraway, Territory Manager Roy Pollitt, TMA Jr. Past President
Larry Owens, and Moose Legion Ambassador Kenny Olaker. Greeneville Moose Lodge Governor Louie Boyle,
Administrator Ron Bergquist, Jr., LOOM officers, and WOTM #1598 officers were there to greet the Supreme
Governor and take part in the presentations. During their time at the Greeneville Lodge, the group enjoyed a
wonderful dinner in the dining room. After their dinner, the group stayed and enjoyed a fun night of karaoke in
the Social Quarters.

It Pays to Read Your Newsletter Somewhere in this newsletter is the number
from a Moose Member’s Card. If this number is the last 8 digits of your membership card, you are the winner of a steak dinner for you
and your significant other.
Thank You! To everyone that contributed their time on November 19th to decorate our Moose Family Center for the Christmas holiday
season. You did a truly outstanding job. Your help would be greatly
appreciated in January (date to be announced ) to take the decorations down. You’re the best!

TRUNK OR TREAT
Our 2nd Trunk or Treat was a success this year. We had about 150 kid’s that came by. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped.
The Supreme Governor was on hand to see the food collected for
the Boy Scouts Scouting for Food program. The boy scouts drop
off the food at the Greeneville-Greene County Community
Ministries Food Bank. “The week counts as one of the largest
donations of the year and provides assistance to hundreds of
families during the hardest months of the year,” said Brandon
Chapman of Troop 92. Annually, this food collection drive collects
more than 200,000 cans of food
for people in need. “Citizenship
is something we strongly teach in
the scouting program. We teach
our youth the importance of
taking pride and giving back to
their communities,” said Lashea
Rhodes of Troop 95. This is
another reminder to our local
communities that the Scouts are
here, doing good turns.
