Exquisite Choosing early January and an exquisite modern venue, found by Wedding Concepts in the Cape winelands, 175 guests flew into Cape Town from around the world. Kiki and Sam chose to get ready in the heart of the Mother City, amongst the largest annual carnival. This made for a fun exit from the bustling Cape Town streets to the quieter winelands setting. Love

kept guests entertained, whilst carefully selected canapés, such as mozambican tiger prawns, cape malay spiced chicken,

smoked springbok and braised oxtail croquettes, showcased some of the best southern african cuisine.

Kiki wanted pure sophistication all the way – but the true glitz and glamour was only revealed to guests after the pre-dinner

drinks. Kim Werner, project director from Wedding concepts, explained, “the entire reception venue had been luxuriously

draped, including a ‘curtain’ that was pulled away to reveal the

magnificent and opulent reception. crystal chandeliers added

dazzling lighting and striking pink, intelligent lighting, and a gobo

(used to control the shape of emitted light) of the couple’s initials

swirled across the dance floor”.

each designer tabletop was adorned with the most exquisite

floral arrangements. orchids in fuchsia and white cascaded from

the tall floral features, whilst lower containers made of crystal and

silver added additional sparkle to each setting. White hydrangeas

and roses brought a classic romance to the tablescape. “the

real show stopper was the bridal stage! the couples’ designer,

white leather armchairs were encircled by masses of colourful

rose petals arranged in a dreamy paisley pattern,” said Wedding

concepts’ Kim Werner.

nigerian dJ scratch, who had been specially flown in from

Johannesburg, took over the decks. With his mind-blowing sets

of world music, combined with the setting, luxurious décor and

dazzling lighting features, this chic wedding more than conquered

the world’s designer wedding stage.
