SLING FITTING GUIDE

UNIVERSAL SLINGS : FITTING IN A SEATED POSITION

Push the sling evenlydown the back of thepatient, to about25mm below thebase of the spine.If it helps, use a slide sheet.slide sheet.

Cross the leg strapsthrough each other, making sure thereare no folds in the leg sections and thefabric is smooth.

Attach the leg strapsthe hoist spreaderbar first, then raisethe hoist and attachthe shoulder straps.Double-check theyare securely attached.are securely attached.Ensure the patient’sarms are inside the sling,as in the photograph.

Pull the sling underthe thighs of thepatient, making surethere are no twistsor folds in the fabric.

The longer the shoulderstrap is, the more reclined the patient willbe. For a more uprightposition, use the shortestshoulder strap loop.
