Aruba...fantastic,” says DiLullo.

Gartner recently released a critical capabilities report on wireless that put Aruba at the head of the pack when it comes to four out of five wireless capabilities. “I’ve got four aces and a king,” says DiLullo, “When potential customers see numbers like that, it is easy to see that we are a vendor that deserves consideration.”

Aruba is striving to be the biggest little company on the landscape. It may be one of the most successful company’s in history, but Aruba is still providing personalised service and a face-to-face presence. “We want to be sure that our customers can reach out and find us,” says DiLullo. Will we find Aruba at Gitex next year? DiLullo is confident they will be a presence here for years to come.

Silver Peak takes first Gitex steps

Silver Peak is relishing the prospect of completing its first GITEX Technology Week. The WAN optimisation firm is very pleased with the way its first outing has gone, and feels the event is a fantastic stepping stone for building a regional footprint.

“In the Middle East it’s very important that people know your company name; the main idea is to really have a presence,” says Bhaskar Peruri, Regional Sales Manager, Silver Peak. “We want to show that we are keen to invest in the region and that we eventually want to expand to other regions.”

The company has recently launched its Unity fabric, which unifies the enterprise network with the Internet and public cloud, and is designed to optimise cloud applications.

In keeping SaaS and IaaS traffic on Unity, organisations can monitor and control connectivity to the cloud while ensuring consistent SaaS performance.

Peruri believes that WAN is

becoming an increasingly vital technology, and Silver Peak is in pole position to capitalise on the growing market, “WAN use is becoming increasingly common,” he says. “Normally, backup and replication processes take around four hours, but we are able to speed up these processes so they take much less time.

The company used GITEX to announce that it had saved the National Bank of Abu Dhabi $200,000 per month through its WAN optimisation.

Looking forward, Peruri believes “cloud SaaS and IaaS providers” become the company’s main focus. “In two years’ time we’ll still be focused on WAN optimisation,” he says.

Ocedo enters SDN market

The German networking company Ocedo has announced its entry in the fast growing software defined networking (SDN) market during GITEX Technology Week. Networks engineered using SDN technologies benefit

from increased agility, speed, scalability, and lower capital and operating costs. Ocedo is uniquely focused on bringing these SDN benefits to distributed enterprise networks specifically for mid-sized companies.

The solution developed by Ocedo offers a complete, integrated range of cloud managed and SDN enabled network equipment to connect wired, wireless and wide-area networks. The Ocedo System enables IT departments and MSPs to roll-out entire networks remotely from the cloud, track network activity in a “single pane of glass”, and provision network configuration changes in real time.

“SDN is ready to move beyond

the data center and provide innovation in distributed enterprise networks,” said Jan Hichert, Ocedo CEO. “Ocedo’s focus is on making networking radically simpler for today’s agile, growing organizations.”

The Ocedo System is made available through a strong partner network – a model the founders already successfully implemented with their previous company enabling system integrators and managed service providers to enhance their business offering for their customers. It will free resources for these partners through the efficiency gains from SDN network management and enable them to grow their business.

are providing the only unified security platform for the top operating systems to protect enterprises from multi-vector attacks. With our proven ability to detect zero-day attacks, both Mac and Windows organizations can now benefit from the industry’s best threat protection.”

To support iOS, FireEye will provide a Mobile Threat Prevention App in Apple’s App Store.

In addition, with the FireEye AX 5500 forensic analysis security platform, customers will have enhanced global threat intelligence from the FireEye Dynamic Threat Intelligence (DTI) cloud with data drawn from attacks targeting Macs and the ability to correlate attacks across Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Google Android platforms.
