Decision Time: My Way or God’s Way
Genesis 3:1-7, Genesis 3:17-18
Way to go Adam … your decision in the Garden is affecting me!
Our decisions determine our destiny.
What is your desired final destination?
My way … or God’s way?
Ephesians 6:12, Galatians 5:17, Romans 7:14-15
Romans 7:18-19, Romans 7:22-23, Romans 7:24-25
Romans 8:1-2, 2 Corinthians 12:7-9, 1 Corinthians 9:27 Galatians 5:16-18, Galatians 5:19-21
What is your desired final destination?
My way … or God’s way?
Way to go Adam … your decision in the Garden is affecting me!
And they twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand and knelt down be-
fore Him to mock Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

6 Ways to Avoid Your Community
The world is a dirty place. It presents a great risk to our children, our homes and our faith. Because of that we should avoid it. Here are a few suggestions to help you avoid your community.
Close your eyes. Close them tightly to the many opportunities to touch the lives of others with the example of Jesus. There are co-workers, classmates, neighbors, friends, etc. So many opportunities that the only way to avoid them is to ignore them, deny that they exist or put a label on them; gay, immoral, denominational. Anything that will show that they are not a real opportunity, and therefore not your responsibility.
Close your hearts. Don’t let compassion seep in. Don’t look at the homeless, or feel for those hurting, don’t see lostness or listen to cries for help. Harden yourself to those who are not your friends, family or church. Be rude, uncaring and never, never lend them a hand. They’re unloving and don’t deserve the kind of love that Christians have. The kind of love we have for each other. The kind of love that Christ had for US. Close your church buildings. Don’t invite them, welcome them or prepare for them. Don’t save them a parking spot or a seat. The church building is for “the church.” It’s not for them. They question what we teach, their children don’t know how to behave in class and they spill in our auditoriums. They have bars, clubs and stadiums. They don’t need to be in our church buildings and we don’t need them in them in there either.
Close your wallets. Don’t be generous with your money. Give on Sundays, to missionaries and to those in your congregation. But, not to those on street corners, shelters and back alleys. You know what they will do with a handout; buy beer, or cigarettes, or drugs. Meanwhile, you can debate with other Christians if giving money is the work of the congregation or individuals, while keeping your money in interest bearing accounts.
Close your mouths. Don’t tell anyone about Jesus. What He did and offers to everyone. They don’t really want to hear about Him. They don’t even want the truth. They don’t want to know about their sin, about forgiveness and hope. They just want to hear whatever tickles their ears. Besides, they won’t even listen because they are watching the filth on TV and listening to their raunchy music.
Close your Bibles. Because if you open God’s word you will quickly find out that He has left us here to engage our culture, to show compassion to everyone, and tell them about Jesus. And, if you read what He says, you’ll find out that those who don’t reach out to the world around us have no more hope than those who are lost in it.
