given to the parish secretary. Additional tickets are available at the Parish Center. Quilt will be raffled at the Altar & Rosary Society Mother

What is Lent?
Lent is the 40 day period of fasting, penitence, and sorrow, leading up to the feast of Easter, Recalling Jesus’ 40-day fast in the wilderness. Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on March 5, and concludes at the end of the Sat., Easter Virgil on April 19th.

tibia y gris, a un estado de colorido; han de renacer las vivencias pascuales de gozo y alegría con la luz de

puedes aliviar.
Para poder decirte el día del juicio final: “Ven, bendito de mi padre, porque tuve hambre y me diste de comer, estuve desnudo y me vestiste, estuve enfermo y me
ayudaste con el medico y las medicinas…”.

Normas de la Cuaresma
Abstinencia: Todos los que han cumplido 14 años están obligados por esta norma.
Ayuno: Todos los que han cumplido 18 años hasta los sesenta.
Explicación: Lo norma de la abstinencia significa que una persona esta obligada en abstenerse desde que tiene los 14 años. La norma del ayudo significa que
todos los adultos están obligados después de cumplir 19 años de edad hasta la edad de 60 años.
Aplicación: La norma de abstinencia pide el no comer carne y productos preparados con esta. La norma de ayunar se refiere a comer una comida completa y dos
comidas muy ligeras en el curso del día y prohíbe comer entre las comidas. En los estados Unidos el
Miércoles de Ceniza y el Viernes Santo, son días de ayuno y abstinencia. Todos los viernes de Cuaresma
son días de abstinencia de carne.
Excepciones: Las mujeres embarazadas y las personas que están enfermas no están obligadas a seguir estas
normas durante la cuaresma.
