Transcript of 6) what have you learnt about technologies
6) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Digital Technologies I used:
1.Photoshop2.Quark3.Camera4.Dafont 5.Google6.Prezie7.Blogger
Photoshop I used Photoshop to create my cover
page, in this picture you can see that I have cropped around the image so I no
longer had a background from the picture. This give the photo a more
professional look and makes it stand out more. I also created a quirky
background, that fits well with my target audience I did this by selecting a colour and then selecting a style to go
over the top. Without photo shop I wouldn't of been unable to do these
more technical things for my product.
Quark
I used Quark to create my contents and double page spread, I found it more
simple to use then Photoshop as there were less technical things on it. Here you can see that I created a standard
looking contents page that has columns and pictures on it, I did this by inserting
text boxes without the text boxes I would of found it very hard to get the
text all in line and it would of took much longer. Therefore Quark also saved me
lots of time.
Camera
I used a camera to take all my photo’s that you see on my product, with out the camera I wouldn't of been able to
have any of my own personal photos on my product. It made my magazine look
more professional with photos, the camera was also a high quality one (slr cannon) which made the quality of the picture’s very high so they weren't out
of focus and blurry.
DaFont
I used DaFont for most of the text you see on my product, as you can see I
used Budmo for my contents page mast head. DaFont was very easy to use and
straight forward. It gave me a bigger range of text to choose from rather than the standard text you get on Photoshop and quark. It also let me make my text
stand out more and look bolder.
I used Google to get inspiration when I was planning my product, I was able to
look at other magazines and pick out things that I liked about them. This was a big help as I wasn't sure at first how to
set my product out, and what time of target audience I wanted to
accommodate to. I then realised that I wanted to make something that wasn't
already available.
Prezzie
I used Prezie to create one of my questions (3) in my evaluation, it was simple and easy to use and made my
question look fancy and more interesting. I would use it again as I think it is very effective at making
something look a lot better than just a few paragraphs on Microsoft word.
Blogger
I used blogger to present everything I have done through out the course, It was easy to use and it a good way to
store everything and present it. I have created a different blog for every
section in the course e.g. Question 1, Question 2. You post everything on to
your own personal website so only your work is on that website, nobody else's. Here you can see all my different blog
posts.
