Hardware: Physical technology

Mac Book Pro, I used this to load all my work onto and edit my film opening. I have used this as it is one of the best laptops on the market and has good editing software; iMovie's, which I used to edit my work; my film opening and preliminary task and any other video I have put together. I have also used this as it was available to be and easy for me to use as it is a piece of equipment I am used to using. Mac Boom Pro is a professional piece of equipment that I would defiantly use again.

Hardware: Physical technology (cameras)

Fujifilm digital slr, I used this to film my film opening. I have used this as this was available for me to use. I was a nice piece of equipment or me to use as it was a HD camera that recorded a good quality film. This was good camera however if I was to do more things like this again I probably would use a better camera so it would be better quality.

Flip cam, this was used for my short filming tasks such as my preliminary task and one of my evaluation tasks. I used this as it was hand held and very easy to use it was also HD and gave an okay film quality.

Software: The computer programs

This is iMovie's, the software I used to edit my film opening. I used this software as I was using a MacBook for my work and this is the software it is equipped with. iMovie's was fairly easy to use some aspects were slightly fiddly for instance doing editing in fine detail was slightly tricky, however using iMovie's altogether was a great experience, I learnt how to add sound affects over the top of a video, add film tiles, add colour effects, cut clips and use slow motion. Before I used iMovie's I didn’t really know how to use it very well but now I have quite a good level of understanding on iMovie's. As iMovie's is basic software if I were to do anything like this again I would consider using a better more professional piece of software.

Photoshop.

This I Photoshop, I used this to design my production company logo and to put together images for a fame analysis. Photoshop is a great tool before using it I had a small level of understanding which has now grown. It helped me to create my production company logo as it allows you to merge text and images together to look realistic. It has taught me how to add different effects to images and text. Photoshop is a professional piece of software that allows you to use different tools within, if I needed to do any more designing I would defiantly use Photoshop as it offers most elements needed when editing pictures and text.

Online tools : Websites that you have use

I have a few websites online these included YouTube, Slide share and Sound Bible. I already had a good level of understanding of YouTube as it is something I am familiar with as i already own a YouTube account. However I got the chance to add tags onto one of my videos which was something I had never done, I found it very easy it was very straight forward and understandable. On the other hand I used two websites that I wasn’t familiar with at all, sound bible and Slideshare. Sound Bible was where I got the sound effects for my media product they were very easy to find and download, you could write in a key word e.g. horror and find sounds in that genre. Slideshare is a place where you upload a PowerPoint and it converts it into an online power point that allows everyone on Slideshare to see it and it also allows you embed it on to a page in my case a blog. Using these new sites was a really good experience they are very easy to use and very useful I would defiantly use them again.

Online tools: websites that you have used

Another set of website I have used were Blogger and Mindmeister. Blogger formed the basis of my media production as it was the place where all my work was stored. Before I had no level of understanding on using Blogger, but it was a very simple site to get around, it had navigation bars and tabs to help make things easier. It was really good as it helped me to organise all my work as I could post them in different blog posts, then put them in the order I wanted. Blogger also allowed you to embed videos and add pictures therefore everything didn’t have to be hand written work could have been done in a different way. It also allowed you to change the layout, page design, colour and text. I think Blogger was relatively easy and effective to use and to present my work from, I would defiantly use it again in the future

Mindmeister was the online tool that help me to create mind maps online instead of hand writing them this was really good as with hand writing them it will mean you have to upload a picture of my mind map onto my blog and pictures cant always be seen clearly. Therefore doing in online and embedding it onto my blog was very handy.

Some more online tools I used for Google and dafont. I used Google to find everything I needed for my blog, it helped me to find many different websites to find information from to help me with my work. Then I used dafont to download font to fit my film genre, to use as my film opening titles, the website was very easy to use again typing in a key work e.g. horror and I will come up with multiple fonts related to horror. I found it very easy to use and it was very effective.
