The Old ClockBefore we proceed:
Man is a social being. His wants are unlimited. So he needs to fulfill his necessities. Thus, here is a shopping scene of Christmas Eve over Salt Lake City, USA.
Two men visit to the old clock shop. How they are helped by the owner in their bad time? Mean while the author helps them. Do they all three feel the message “ Merry Christmas”?
The Old ClockIt was Christmas Eve and last minute shoppers
were going home over wintry Salt Lake City, USA.Lights were still burning.Ray’s Old Clock Shop was still open. The two shoppers visited Ray’s shop at late hours.
One was in twenty and another close to fifty. The young man remained at the door and the old man approach the counter with no friendliness.
Ray was deaf and dumb, so he pushed a note pad and pencil.
The old man was restless
The Old ClockRay closely observed them and knew the visitors
were in badly in need. So again he pushed the note pad and pencil writing, “May I help you?”
The man at fifty felt relaxed.Again Ray wrote the message, “Have you come to
pickup clock or a watch?”Then the visitor pointed the ‘Loan Board’ and Ray
agreed to help them. The old man showed his wrist watch and asked
anything for exchange in order to come out from bad situation.
The Old ClockRay understood and passed fifty dollars in the
hands of old man. The old man thanked and wrote the next visit on
the note pad and wished “Merry Christmas!”At this hour the whole clock chimed altogether.
This hour was felt by all three and the message “Merry Christmas” echoed in the mind of all three specially to Ray. The timeless message of “Peace on Earth, Goodwill towards all” was felt by them.
