NO HOMEWORK!
Have students ever planned a fun activity with their friends/family and it
gets ruined by homework? Did they wish teachers didn’t give them
homework all the time? When students have homework, do they tend to
get stressed out? Since all these questions are true, I say, “there should
not be any more homework!”
First, teachers will not have to grade all those tests, assignments,
projects, etc. Not just students get stressed out by so much homework
but teachers too. For example, teachers get stressed by having an entire
skyscraper of essays to grade in 1 day! How hard and stressful does that
sound to those poor teachers? We need to help the teachers by not
having any more homework.
Another reason, not to have any homework is students can hang
out with friends and spend time with family. Students would hang out
with friends because sometimes they don’t go to the same school or
different grade level. However, when they both have so much
homework, they can’t hang out with each other. The teachers take it
away and don’t care about them being friends! Next, if one friend is
doing homework, and the other student doesn’t, the student who doesn’t
have any homework can spend time with his/her family. A chance the
parents can spend time with their child. However, if the children have so
much homework, then the parents can’t spend time, all because
homework broke apart the family.
Finally, students already learned the concept. The students don’t
want to do the same math problem, social studies question, or science
project that they already mastered the lesson in the entire 40 minutes.
Think of the children in this horrible tragedy! The students just sit there
and be bored because they learned the lesson previously in the year or
other school years. I’m positive if you were one of the students who
barely survived this depressing moment, you would do something about
it. Forty minutes might not seem such a long time but two 40 minutes is
80 minutes; that’s more than an hour! An hour feels like a month to the
students!
Hope you think about this tragedy for the students/children and
the teachers who are in charge of the classroom and their responsibility
at all times. Also, you’ll be called the favorite teacher in seconds. The
students will love you if you just throw away homework FOREVER!
The students will promise they’ll pay attention more in class if you do.
Furthermore, you’ll be so touched when you see those happy faces right
in front of you all because you are the only teacher who gives no more
homework. Do the right thing and make homework, projects, tests
EXTINCT!
