SCRIPTURE STUDY The Scripture Study group will be examining The Eucharist in Scripture in a six week course starting May 4 in the PAC at 7 pm. The same course will also be offered on Thursday mornings at 10 am in the PAC starting May 7. The suggested donation for the course and materials is $18. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS!!! The Knights Of Columbus Bishop O’Dowd Council 3474 is now accepting scholarship applications. Applicants must be high school seniors and be a member of one of the six parishes that the council serves. This (1) $500.00 Award is presented to an outstanding individual selected from the applications received. The criteria for the selection is based on financial need, Grade Point Average, and extra curricular activities including those with church and community. First Wednesday Mass and Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help

Everyone is invited this coming Wednesday, May 6, to cel-ebrate the Novena-Mass in honor of Our Mother of Perpet-ual Help. The Novena-Mass is celebrated here at St. Lucy church every first Wednesday of the month at 6 PM. And on other Wednesdays, the Novena to Our Mother of Per-petual Help is observed at 6:30 PM preceded by the pray-ing of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM.

Altar Society Installation of Officers and Gathering

The members and friends of St. Lucy Altar Society will meet at Noon on Thursday May 7, 2015 for a potluck lunch-eon and to install their new officers for the 2015-2016 term. Fr. Kevin Joyce will preside at the Installation. Please bring a salad or dessert to share. Also if you have a statue of Our Blessed Mother that you would like to bring to share, please do so. This is our final meeting until September, as we do not meet during the summer months although our Altar Ministry continues each week throughout the year. BEARING FRUIT

"Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth." John's words come to us on this day when the Gospel passage presents us with the great image of the vine and the branch-es. Jesus uses the image as a warning to those who have begun to distance themselves from the way of the Lord. One of the ways this happens is when we love God and others "in word or speech" instead of "in deed and truth." What does it mean for us to "remain in Christ"? In an extension of the metaphor, the Lord gives us an example. If we remain in him, we will bear much fruit. As the branches, we draw strength from Christ who is the vine. Misa y Novena del Primer Miércoles para Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro

Sociedad del Altar: Instalación de Oficiales y Junta

Los miembros y amigos de la Sociedad del Altar de Santa Lucia se reunirán al mediodía del jueves 7 de mayo 2015 para un almuerzo y para instalar sus nuevos oficiales para el período 2015-2016. PARA DAR FRUTO

"Hijos míos: No amemos solamente de palabra; amemos de verdad y con las obras". Las palabras de Juan nos llegan hoy cuando el pasaje del Evangelio nos presenta con la gran imagen del viñedo y las ramas. Jesús usa la imagen como un aviso a los que se han empezado a distanciar de la senda del Señor. Esto sucede cuando amamos a Dios y a otros "con palabras o dichos" y no con "la verdad y las obras". ¿Qué significa para nosotros "permanecer en Cris-to"? El Señor nos da un ejemplo con la extensión de la metáfora. Si permanecemos en él, daremos mucho fruto. Como ramas sacamos la fuerza de Cristo que es la viña.
