th 5 International Symposium on the Mediterranean Pig th 5 International Symposium on the Mediterranean Pig 16-19 novembre 2004 Tarbes (France) Parc des Expositions FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT This symposium is the fifth in a series which successively took place in France (Ajaccio - 1989), Spain (Badajoz - 1992), Italy (Benevento - 1995) and Portugal (Evora - 1998). The general aim of this series is to offer a forum of exchanges and discussion between researchers involved in the different scientific disciplines dealing with pig production and network in the Mediterranean area. The main objective is to present and discuss the researches undertaken to meet the growing concern about the diversification of production in agriculture, the identification of quality products for new uses and markets, as well as the sustainable management and use of natural and agricultural resources. Organized by the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA), the Parc des Expositions de Tarbes (SEAE), in collaboration with Additional informations Languages The official languages for the Symposium will be French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and English. Simultaneous translation will be guaranteed for French, Spanish and Italian. The communications can be contributed as posters or oral communications. All authors should send two summaries of one page maximum each, one in English and the other in their mother language, to the scientific secretariat. Publication of the contributions The summaries of the communications will be edited and distributed at the symposium. The Symposium Proceedings will be published under the auspicious of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies ( CIHEAM).
