Clever wordplay and symbolism blend

magically with pewter sculpture to create

inspirational art objects that cheer up, console,

amuse and inspire — from recognizing rites of

passage to a simple “thank you” — all with

a refreshing twist of whimsy.

Tamara Hensick has always created “things”

with her hands. One day she decided to

cast a chicken bone in silver. In her own words,

“I thought, what a wonderful object to have...

to hold and to inspire one to always make wishes.

The notion then struck me to take a closer look at our

everyday sayings and symbols and create sculptures

that would bring them to life while representing

our wishes, hopes and dreams.” In her Venice, Califor-

nia, studio Tamara sculpts her designs in a variety of

soft waxes and then each original is cast in pewter by a family-owned foundry in Southern California.

Every piece is made by hand in the U.S.A.
