Set induction 1. Pupils are asked to put their hand in the box and

try to guess what is in the box.

2. Pupils listen to the song of “Animals in the Zoo”

(tune of Wheels on the Bus).

3. Pupils sing the song with teacher’s guidance.

of animals.

2. Pupils are guided to press the enter button on the

laptop. Once the pictures of animals appear, pupils

name the animals.

3. Pupils are to notice the spelling for each animal

with teacher’s guidance.

Activity : Treasure Hunt

1. Teacher pastes pictures of animals (tiger,

elephant, monkey, horse, duck, sheep, frog) on

the whiteboard. * Refer to Attachment 2.

2. Teacher pastes 7 squares with different colours

on the whiteboard.

3. Teacher hides the letters pertaining to names of

the animals around the class. Each letter is

4. Each pupil is assigned a colour.

5. Pupils hunt for the letters around the class.

Once they found them, the pupils will stick them

to do the jigsaw puzzle. * Refer to Attachment 3.

2. Once the activities done, pupils are to match the

3. Upon completion, pupils read aloud the names of

each animal.
