.Nokia and Saudi Telecom Company (STC) have signed a deal to deploy a 5G network with Nokia's end-to-end 5G solutions. Nokia's equipment, software and services will be used to set up a 5G network first in the western and southern part of Saudi Arabia, including the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. The rollout phase is already ongoing and is expected to be completed by end of 2020.

Nokia and U.S. Cellular sign multi-year 5G network modernization deal

Nokia expands its relationship with U.S. Cellular with the signing of a five-year deal to modernize the company's network by providing its end-to-end 5G technology, software and services solutions. This will enable U.S. Cellular to deliver innovative services to its customers and expand into new customer and enterprise segments with 5G services and solutions.

The new contract builds upon the 5G trial activities Nokia and U.S. Cellular have been engaged in during the last year. As part of the agreement Nokia will modernize and build out a 5G network for U.S. Cellular across its markets using 5G capabilities compliant with 3GPP 5G New Radio (NR) standards.

.Ooredoo Qatar has selected Nokia to build a 5G cloud native core network to support delivery of enhanced mobile broadband services. Nokia's solution will be deployed in Ooredoo's state-of-the-art datacenters in Qatar's capital city Doha

The cloud-based architecture for core network is scalable, agile and flexible, making it reliable and suitable for extreme mobile broadband and massive/critical machine communication services. Nokia AirFrame, CloudBand, voice and Cloud Packet Core VNFs, and Nuage Networks Software Defined Network (SDN) are being deployed in the core network.
