What have you learned from your preliminary task?What have you learned that has influenced decisions you have made in the filming and editing process?

Camera Angles In the preliminary task we were limited to basic camera angles and shots such as close up and long shot. However, learning that without a range of shots and angles our media product didn't look professional and it became very monotonous to watch as an audience member.

Editing Special effects and editing techniques increase the quality and appearance of the film. We can cut/crop footage using final cut pro. During the editing process I realised that people had been caught in the footage during filming. I tried to fix this using a cropping tool, but the footage became stretched out, making the appearance of one of the actors appear very stretched out. From this I learnt that when filming its important to be aware of people that may be passing by, which often interrupts the dialogue and distracts the audience from the film.

ProgressionFrom the preliminary task to our final opening sequence, I think our opening sequence shows increase in knowledge of the filming and editing process. I had a greater awareness of things around me, paying much more attention to minuscule details such as objects in the background of footage and how they might create/deviate from our intended effect or meaning were trying to create.
