  • What have you learned from your preliminary task? What have you learned that has influenced decisions you have made in the filming and editing process?

  • Camera Angles In the preliminary task we were limited to basic camera angles and shots such as close up and long shot. However, learning that without a range of shots and angles our media product didn't look professional and it became very monotonous to watch as an audience member.

  • Editing Special effects and editing techniques increase the quality and appearance of the film. We can cut/crop footage using final cut pro. During the editing process I realised that people had been caught in the footage during filming. I tried to fix this using a cropping tool, but the footage became stretched out, making the appearance of one of the actors appear very stretched out. From this I learnt that when filming its important to be aware of people that may be passing by, which often interrupts the dialogue and distracts the audience from the film.

  • ProgressionFrom the preliminary task to our final opening sequence, I think our opening sequence shows increase in knowledge of the filming and editing process. I had a greater awareness of things around me, paying much more attention to minuscule details such as objects in the background of footage and how they might create/deviate from our intended effect or meaning were trying to create.
