Staff 5:01 Club

Description: To provide the faculty and staff with an opportunity to socialize, connect, and

network with fellow co-workers. This 5:01 Club will offer faculty and staff a great opportunity to

strengthen connections amongst co-workers as well as develop new relationships with incoming

staff members.

Motivation: Previously, social groups were prevalent and popular amongst staff members due

to their casual atmosphere and excellent networking opportunities. By filling the void that has

been left from former social groups the faculty and staff will see multiple benefits. Installing a

new social group will increase interconnectivity across all functional departments and benefit the

local Hillsborough Street businesses.

Communication Plan: In order to spread the word of upcoming events members of the 5:01

Club will be placed on an e-mail list. Members of the e-mail list will receive reminders with the

location and description a month prior to the event. A Facebook page and Google group will be

created as a second and third form of communication; members of the Facebook group will

receive simple notifications the day before events occur, Google group members will receive e-

mail blasts regarding events.

Proposed Schedule: All events will occur on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday and will last

between the hours of 5 P.M. – 7 P.M. The upcoming event in March is State Patty’s Day and

will be held at Mcdaid’s Irish Pub.

Team: Live it Up Hillsborough Street will be partnering with the 5:01 Club providing attendees

with a great experience around the local area.
