Lord, it grieves my heart to think of the millions of lives lost because of legal abortion; each life is precious in Your sight,

woven together in the womb. We ask that You would forgive us of this national sin and cause the U.S. Supreme Court Justices to agree with You that every life is precious. We deserve judgment, but we humbly ask for the wisdom of heaven to bring godly conviction upon our nine Supreme Court Justices. Lord, cause them to rule in favor of protecting life. Lord, we appeal to You as we appeal for life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Praying for the Supreme CourtDobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization will be heard before the Supreme Court on December 1, 2021. The Mississippi law in question prohibits abortions after fifteen weeks except in case of medical emergencies and fetal abnormalities.

Pray for the key people who are determining the outcome of this important case. Each of the nine justices of the Supreme Court has four law clerks who assist them. These brilliant law graduates have usually clerked for other federal judges. They may influence how the justices will vote in cases.

Below each Justice is the name and information of each clerk, with law school graduation date and other judges they have clerked for listed.

Chief Justice John G. Roberts

Lord, we humbly appeal to Your courts where You are enthroned as Lord of all. We know that You are and have been hearing the prayers of Your people who have been crying out day and night over the atrocity of Roe v. Wade. We lift each justice before You and pray for Your presence to fill the courtroom. We pray for Your angelic hosts to be present while this case is going forth. We ask for supernatural protection over each justice, clerks, and everyone involved. We pray You would expose any threats, deals, or bribes being made in secret to pervert righteous judgment from coming forth. Let each justice sense Your very presence even in their private chambers. We pray for the Spirit of God to bring conviction concerning life and bring a fear of the Lord to those justices who do not know You as Lord yet. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Pray for the court to execute righteous and fair judgment based on the fear of the Lord and not fear of men.

These are the things you should do: Speak the truth to one another. In the courts give real justice—the kind that brings peace. (Zech 8:16) The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, He that rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.” (2 Sam 23:3)

Praying for the Nine Justices of the Supreme Court

Pray for wisdom and discernment for each Justice as they rule on the critical issue of life and death for the preborn. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. (Eph 1:17) But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (Jas 3:17)

Pray for them to receive dreams and visions. For God does speak—now one way, now another— though no one perceives it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword. (Job 33:15-18)

Pray that no bribery or political affiliations of any kind would prevail over true justice. He told them, “Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for mere mortals but for the Lord, who is with you whenever you give a verdict. Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.” (2 Chr 19:6,7) You must never twist justice or show partiality. Never accept a bribe, for bribes blind the eyes of the wise and corrupt the decisions of the godly. (Dt 16:19)

Pray for the heart of each justice to encounter Jesus Christ as Lord, and for those who already profess Him to seek His presence in prayer and His counsel and truth found in the scriptures. For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Rom 10:12,13) Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. (Heb 10:22)

(Heb 10:22)

Praying for the Law Clerks

Pray for the salvation of the clerks and a fear of God in their lives. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. (Ps 111:10)

Pray for the clerks who profess Jesus Christ to serve with integrity.

Show yourself in all respects to be a

model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity. (Tm 2:7)

Pray for the clerks who profess Jesus Christ to serve with integrity. Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity. (Tm 2:7)

Pray they would not compromise or give into pressure to pervert justice. You must not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you are called to testify in a dispute, do not be swayed by the crowd to twist justice. (Ex 23:2)

Pray for them to seek God’s wisdom as they are preparing and assisting the justices. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. (Prv 2:6-8)

Pray for the clerks to use their influence for righteousness. To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. (Prv 21:3)

Lord, we lift up these clerks to You by name. We ask that for those who do not know You as Lord and Savior, that they would receive You. We pray that as they are assisting the justices, they would experience the fear of God in their own lives. Open their eyes to see the sanctity of life. Speak to them through dreams, visions, and warnings. We pray for their families, friends, and anyone they are connected to—surround them with godly influences and give sound biblical counsel. Give them courage not to bow down to fear or pressure coming from the world. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Pray for protection over the lawyers and their families. Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the plots of evildoers. (Ps 64:2)

Lord, we lift up the Respondents and Petitioners before you. We pray for the salvation of the lost and their families. We pray they will encounter Your presence in dreams and visions. Open their eyes and ears so that they might know You. I pray that Your truth would be revealed in their lives and they would be set free. I pray that lying lips, slander, and evil speech be silenced in the courtrooms. I pray You would expose the plans of the enemy and frustrate the counsel of the wicked. Let their plans fall apart and let there be no agreement among those who rejoice in the shedding of innocent blood. I pray for grace and strength for the petitioners, to stand strong in the face of opposition. We plead your blood over them to protect and keep them and their families from both physical and spiritual attacks. In Jesus’ name, amen.
