Job Title: IT Broadcast Support
This fast-moving/fast impact broadcast business has been operational for just over 2 years and within this small
amount of time has already won awards for its cutting edge cloud platform. Providing secure, cloud-based
applications that are faster, cheaper, and more flexible that traditional models.
As broadcast technology develops and changes systems are needed to be 24/7/365 supported and operational by
employees who are passionate about all aspects of media. If you are passionate about media and want to be
highly involved in the ongoing success of this company then this is the role for you.
Role Purpose
We are looking for a positive motivated technical individual who is willing to learn or wishes to apply home-
gained skill in a professional workplace. This role is an entry level role in the industry and is a person’s first step to
becoming a Broadcast Engineer.
This position is suitable for a recent graduate or people who can demonstrate IT skills gained in any technical
environment. This position is a 24/7/365 role and requires the successful candidate to work to a variable shift
pattern.
This role reports into the Head of Applications and Broadcast and will have a strong working relationship with the
2nd and 3rd line Broadcasting Teams.
This is a rapidly growing company and the candidate will be required to perform a range of support activities,
initially this role will assist a team of support staff and perform basic technical support to the operations team.
Demonstrable respect for correct process and an understanding of the importance of proper communication and
administration is crucial for the IT Broadcast Support.
This role is goal-based and success is measured by internal KPIs.
Responsibilities:
Assist the 2nd line and 3rd line broadcast teams with incident investigation
Assist playout operations
Support playout operations team with applications issues
Administration of system logs
Administration of software and kit lists
Assist 24/7 playout and operation of channels
Exceed internal KPIs
Assist with creation and management of documentation
Assist with knowledge gathering and management
Log on air incidents in a service management tool
Skills
Be able to communicate effectively and efficiently both oral and written.
Be able to manage and prioritise their workload.
Have the ability to work alone but also as part of a team when required.
The ability to understand technical processes and follow operational procedures
The ability to adapt to an ever changing environment
The ability to retain knowledge and learn best practice is key
Be passionate about media and passionate about the future
Strong ownership and sense of responsibility
Experience and Knowledge
Windows/Linux operating systems
VMWare
Servers
Broadcast knowledge
Media automation and delivery
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Either a college/university graduate with a qualification in Media or worked in a media environment previously
