State expectations clearly and consistently .
Focus on positive expectations .
Practice "positive" behavior.
Establish clear and concise consequences to eliminate inappropriate behavior, and reinforce good behavior.
Monitor student work and provide necessary feedback to encourage students to keep learning.
Maximize time on task by engaging students in a variety of learning experiences. This will prevent inappropriate behavior before it occurs.
Implement a clear set of classroom rules and procedures that are consistent and appropriate to the situation.
Classroom Rules
Positive Environment Every student has the right to come to learn in a safe
classroom environment. Be respectful and polite to all students to get respect and politeness back.
Responsibility No body will do the work for you. It is up to you to be
mindful of your own work. Come to class prepared and ready to learn that means
with any books, assignments and materials needed for class.
Accountability Be aware of your actions and how they may impact
other students. Be prepared to accept the consequences of your actions.
Classroom rules Continued
We will be polite, respectful and obey all school rules while in the classroom.
We will arrive to class on time, take a seat immediately upon entering the class.
We will do all the work assigned, give our 100% best effort at all times, and work from the beginning of the period right to the end of the period.
We will come to class with our assigned materials.
Listen to all directions and instructions given by the teacher and follow them to the best of our abilities.
