MULTI-STEp EQUATIONS
Notes & Scavenger
Hunt!
Multi-Step Equations {With Variables on Both Sides}
Notes & Scavenger Hunt Activity
Objective: To practice solving multi-step equations with variables on both sides.
Notes: Cornell Notes are provided with practice questions for solving multi-step equations
with variables on both sides. Students should already be familiar with solving equations that
require distributing and combining like terms.
Scavenger Hunt Activity: After the notes, students are put in groups of 3 or 4’s, and assigned
to one of the 12 problems that are posted throughout the room. They write down and solve
the equation. The answer they get to that equation will lead them to their next equation. If
done correctly, they should end where they started.
