5 TOP TIPS FOR DEPLOYING A
WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT
What do I need to consider?
A workforce management portal provides an organisation with a fantastic opportunity not only to engage their employees, but also to reduce admin tasks such as dealing with requests & reporting.
If you’re considering deploying one, here are 5 top tips to ensure a successful outcome!
1 Involve employees from the outset
Make sure employees are included throughout the entire planning and rollout process. To help make this happen, you can provide a platform where employees can keep up to date and offer their feedback, ideas and comments.
2
The deployment of a WFM portal can be a big cultural change for employees to come to grips with. Consider testing out the implementation with a sample team of ‘WFM ambassadors’ first, to fine-tune system and processes before rolling it out to the wider organisation.
Slow and steady wins the race
3 Thrive in stages
With a new system, the temptation will be to deploy each and every functionality from the get go. This may be overwhelming. Consider an approach which thrives in stages–taking the time to roll out the key functionalities and making sure each element is delivering the original benefits agreed upon.
4 Ensure you cover all the bases
Resist the urge to go live without all required technical integrations and policies in place. E.g if you are enabling remote access, make sure you work with your technical team to define access controls, user permissions, firewall modifications etc beforehand!
5 Measure the benefits
With a new technology in place, it’s easy to forget to measure the impact on the business from an efficiency and engagement perspective. The foundation to all of this is to baseline the data at the point of deployment and measure the benefits in terms of operational improvements and ROI.
