Traditional Literature Theterms "folk/fairy tales" areinterchangeable. They are

called "folk" because they arepart of the oral tradition handeddown from generation togeneration by the folk. The term

"fairy" denotes the presence ofmagic, characters like dwarfs,leprechauns, and the like. Thecharacteristics of folktales is
