HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR AUDIENCE?

Layout
I used the combined inspiration from two of the biggest music magazines; Uncut and Kerrang. I used my influence to decide on the positioning, colour and size of all the text. This makes my front cover similar to that of a real magazine which follows the same genre.
I made the more important cover lines bigger as that is what most people will be interested in, this will then draw in more of an audience. This will also increase the size of the text making it easier to read.

Photography
The photography used was effective because it portrayed the genre that the magazine was involved in. When taking the photos I had to make the model pose in a way that would make it appealing to the targeted audience. This was further done by having him dress in dark coloured clothes and the shot types used. The images I took were similar to that found in the indie rock music magazines.

Feedback I have received feedback from multiple peers in my class.
“The image on the front
cover, as it engages the
reader…”
“I like the use of the house style, to make it look more
professional”“It would look more professional if
there were page numbers on the bottom of the
pages…”
Based of my feedback I made the necessary improvements seen on the final product.

Colour schemeI attracted my audience through various ways. One of these included my colour scheme, this was; white, black, red and yellow. The use of these colours was beneficial to me because I was able to draw in those who were fans of this genre. The use of the basic colours black and white, allowed me to add any other colours into the mix, this would then appeal to the indie rock loving 16+. This is shown in my front cover where I combined all the colours in an imaginative and attractive way.
