SAJIDA Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to its raison d’etre of bringing health, happiness, and dignity for all. Since its humble beginnings in 1987 as a small garage school for disadvantaged children, the organization has grown from strength to strength. Today, it offers a diverse portfolio of microcredit products alongside quality healthcare services and various social development programs across 22 out of 64 districts, with a dedicated team of 3,613 changemakers.
PURPOSE STATEMENT
SAJIDA Foundation is currently looking for a Research and Impact Evaluation Manager who will be responsible for designing and leading a variety of analytical and research initiatives, primarily in support of the activities of the Development Programs. This position will oversee and design complex research projects, reports, and presentations, as well as directing the development of baseline and other surveys, databases and other tools for data collection/capture and analysis. The role will collate and analyse the data from their research, and provide evidence-based recommendations which will be used to contribute to the delivery of our strategic goals.
Major research projects will be agreed on a 6-monthly basis as part of the Foundation’s planning cycle. There is also a need to run some research at relatively short notice in support of business needs as they arise.
This manager, through their Research, will help draft strategy and policy documents for the development programs, and partake in long-term community planning, which may include socio-economic evaluations, community needs assessments and evaluation studies, as well as the development of innovative strategies and implementation programs.
This is a new post, and ideally the organization needs a person in this role that is an all-rounder who is both strategic and hands-on.
1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:1.1 MANAGE ORGANIZATION’S RESEARCH OPERATIONS
Managing research projects and advising and guiding colleagues planning to conduct their own research with regard to the findings of previous research undertaken and on methodologies for prospective research projects
Managing the external research projects, which may be conducted through other parties, including scoping of the research and defining the methodology or briefing an outsourced research coordinator to do so.
Sourcing the most appropriate external research agencies for specific research projects, using an outsourced research coordinator where appropriate, ensuring these are delivered on time and to the required standard/specification
Management of the research budget.1.2 RESEARCH FOR FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
Researching for identified funding sources; studying and interpreting the funding/grant criteria and preparing proposals in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs), Expressions of Interest (EOI) and other funding opportunities
1.3 DRIVE IMPACT EVALUATION OPERATIONS Analysing project’s impact/social-performance through a range of measures, baseline surveys, etc. and communicating this back to the
project heads with appropriate recommendations.1.4 DEVELOP ORGANIZATIONAL RESEARCH BASE
Curating and logging all research reports, internal and external, to ensure a high-level view of significant findings and trends, get value from them and report them back to the business.
1.5 CAPACITY BUILDING OF ASSOCIATED TEAMS Coach and support organizations and frontline teams that we are working with, providing them with research advice and support to
enable them to reach their full potential. Establish SAJIDA Foundation’s Research team – a pool of independent researchers who will carry out their studies and research
activities, through SAJIDA Foundation. The independent researchers will be responsible for soliciting their own Research funds, with other arrangements like Admin, Logistics, access to all programs and beneficiaries, provided by SAJIDA Foundation.
