• Scope: To investigate new business model activities within the FInES Cluster, especially the rising prominence of the utility paradigm as a driver for new business models in the supply side of ICT, including in the Future Internet contexts

• Current Status:– Collaboration with projects has been established– Draft report is currently under preparation

• Scope: To provide recommendations on the architectural design for next generation enterprise systems and input to the Future Internet Reference Architecture (FIArch) Group

• Current Status:– Call for experts to join its activities

• Scope: To increase visibility of the FInES cluster project results and to reinforce the impact worldwide at scientific level

• Current Status:– 38 papers are in preparation for the Special issue on “Science

foundations for sustainable interoperability in future internet based industrial enterprises”

• Scope: To offer support in the exploitation of the projects' results, not (only) in the starting phase of the projects, but during the entire development; To identify the opportunities and expectations of private investments; To provide dedicated help for the SMEs to become investor-ready.

• Current Status:– Organization of a FInES seminar in November / December – Participation in multiple brokerage events

Going Global: The International Dimension of FInES Research and International Cooperation

• Scope: To improve international visibility, exchange information and experience, establish networks in special technology or application fields with the access to new market knowledge and know-how with partners or organizations in the US, Japan, South Korea, BRIC Countries (Brazil, Russia,India, China), South America, Asian Pacific or Africa

• Current Status: – A report on the cluster activities including all members and

projects is under preparation– Participation in various events

Manufacture and Industry

• Scope: To involve a broad range of industrial and other enterprises in the work and the results obtained in the various research projects in the FInES cluster, and beyond

• Current Status:– Initiation of FInES – EFFRA (European Factories of the Future

Research Association) collaboration– Action planning, contact points collection in Wiki

• Leader: Jesper Thestrup (ebbits)

The Internet as a Universal Business System & ISU Re-visited

• Scope: To build a conceptual model and a FI-based reference architecture for FInES which will enable the vision of FI as the Universal Business System for Enterprises and SMEs

• Current Status:– Draft report is currently under preparation– Contributions to be received in the COIN workshop in Beijing

during the celebrations of the 20th Anniversary of EU-China collaboration in ICT for Enterprise (20-21 October), the FIA Poznan session on October 26th and the FISE workshop on October 27th, the eChallenges 2011 in Florence
