5 Day Kangaroo Island
Day 1: Melbourne to Victor Harbor
Welcome to our 5 Day Tour to Kangaroo Island. Today is a travel day only, so sit back and relax and enjoy the facilities aboard our 5 Star Touring Coach as we express along the Western Freeway past Ballarat, Ararat and Horsham and across the South Australian border. We stop along the way for a coach morning tea and at a suitable location to purchase lunch at own expense. We then travel via Strathalbyn, Port Elliot to Victor Harbor where we check into a local motel for a one night stay.

Day 2: Victor Harbor to Kangaroo Island
After breakfast we travel to Cape Jarvis to catch the first ferry to Kangaroo Island. Once arriving at Kangaroo Island we enjoy the following activities and attractions
CLIFFORD’S HONEY FARM
Kangaroo Island is the only place in the world where a pure strain of the Ligurian bee exists. Tour the honey room to see bees in the glass hives, the extraction process and taste the many different honey flavours produced at the farm.
EMU RIDGE EUCALYPTUS DISTILLERY
Here we enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch, and then continue with a tour of the unique distillery.
Emu Ridge is the only commercial distillery in operation in South Australia. The technology of this operation may surprise you – the rustic outlook hides some clever bush engineering and processes which are simple yet effective. The tour takes you through the fascinating stages of distillation. The on-site shop has an extensive range of
5 Day Kangaroo Island
unique Kangaroo Island souvenirs and eucalyptus oil products are available.
ISLAND PURE SHEEP DAIRY
Here we are taken on a tour of the property with cheese and yogurt tastings
SEAL BAY
The stunning views of the Australian Sea Lion colony and the neighbouring coastline is what makes Seal Bay an essential experience for visitors to the island. One of only two places in the world where you can stroll with your guide through a wild seal colony. Seal Bay is home to around 1000 of the rare Australian Sea Lions
We then travel back to our accommodation with time to freshen up before dinner in the Motel’s Restaurant.
Day 3: Kangaroo Island to Victor Harbor
After breakfast we enjoy the following activities and attractions.
FLINDERS CHASE NATIONAL PARK (REMARKABLE ROCKS & ADMIRALS ARCH)
Travel through the park, enjoying breathtaking views of Yacca Flat and coastal scenery on your way to spectacular Remarkable Rocks. Take a walk around these huge rocks, which have been carved into many different weird and wonderful shapes by the wind and ocean spray over many centuries.
Drive past the ruins of an early settlement at Weirs Cove before going on to the Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse built in 1906, and the natural land bridge that is Admirals Arch”. Look out for the New Zealand Fur Seals frolicking in the water and on the rocks under the arch.
VIVONNE BAY BISTRO
Enjoy a two-course Australian country style lunch.
RAPTOR DOMAIN – BIRDS OF PREY
An amazing and inspiring experience where the birds are flown to display their individual flight and hunting characteristics. The display may involve various birds representative of those found on the Island including: Wedge Tailed Eagles, Osprey, Sea Eagle, Australian Kestrel, Australian Hobby, Tawny Frogmouth and Barn Owls.
PENNINGTON BAY
Pennington Bay is a wonderful surf beach, but extreme care should be used at this spot. Crashing huge waves on the shore can be heard at American River some 9km’s away.
PENNY’S HOTEL
Enjoy a one course pre ferry supper.
We then board Sealink’s Ferry the Sealion 2000 at approx. 7:00pm for a 7:30pm departure for the 45 minute crossing to Cape Jarvis. We then travel to Victor Harbor and check into our Motel for the night.
Apollon Motor Inn: (08) 8552-2777
Day 4: Victor Harbor – Spirit of the Coorong – Mt Gambier
After breakfast we take a brief tour of Victor Harbor. This was originally a whaling centre with three whaling stations in the mid 1900’s and an estimated 400 southern right whales arrived into Encounter Bay each season. Unfortunately these magnificent mammals were destroyed and it’s only in recent years that they have started to return to the bay in increasing numbers.
We make our way through Port Elliot and Middleton with some wonderful views of the coastline as we head towards Goolwa. Goolwa is situated near the mouth of the mighty Murray River where large ships were able to dock. Here we join the Spirit of the Coorong Cruise which will take us on a lunch cruise to Long Point. Our coach will be there waiting here to take you to Mt Gambier and our last night’s stay on this tour.
