MYTH: LIMIT YOURHASHTAGS TO 3-11 TOTAL

• Using hashtags drastically increases your Instagram reach.

• You can put up to 30 hashtags per post. Passing on the opportunity to be seen by more prospects is depriving you of more views and interaction.

• Put them in the first comment (not the caption) and they will become hidden.

Use only 3-11 hashtags. More makes you look spammy..

• This isn’t permission to use bad photos; I still urge you to use the absolute best you can.

• Post the best you can for now and continue to improve your photos.

• But don’t allow a lack of skills keep you from using the platform.

• Remember: Photos are only one part of an Instagram strategy.

MYTH: INSTAGRAM IS ASPONTANEOUS APPLICATION

Instagram is an spontaneous app. Get inspired, shoot, edit and post immediately.

MYTH:

• Planning is required for a successful Instagram feed.

• Good feeds consider aspects such as on-brand colors and a cohesive style.

• Good marketers consider post timing.

• Those “desk shots” were carefully laid out. Nobody’s desk ever looks that perfect. ;-)

• Multiple photo takes may be required to get one image worthy of posting.

for products requiring a longer sales funnel.

• Brand awareness is good – but sales are even better!
