Branum’s Sewing and Vacuum offers Machine Training Classes for every make of machine that we sell in our store. We will help you get started with your machine training from the basics such as cleaning and maintenance, to utilitizing standard and optional feet, and mastering your embroidery skills. There is a class for everyone from the most basic and portable Bernette’s to the 8 series sewing and embroidery machines, and everything in between.We now offer machine training classes specifically for the 8 series owners. Come and take advantage of these classes that are tailored specifically for this amazing and multifaceted sewing and embroidery machine.To get the most out of your machine training experience please make sure you follow these simple guidelines:1. You MUST call or stop by and
sign up for classes so that we can be prepared for you. Class space is limited and kits are prepared for your use. There is a $5.00 kit fee per class.
2. Please bring your machine manual, pen and paper, 1 spool of sewing or embroidery thread, 1 bobbin with thread, cleaning and repair kit (included with machine) and all your feet to EACH class.
3. Magnification if needed i.e.; reading glasses etc.
4. Please do not bring children with you to class.
5. Pease be on time - arrive early so you can have your machine set up and ready to go 10 MINUTES BEFORE your scheduled class time.

QUILTING IN THE HOOPGloria AndersenQuilting in the hoop is a great way to achieve those beautiful feather quilted designs on your quilt even if your quilting skills have not yet progressed to that stage. Replicate the same quilting environment on the embroidery machine that you would use at the sewing machine. Quilting the quilt does not require stabilizer, therefore, all you do is hoop the quilt.Class Fee: $15January 15 12pm-5pm

Betsy Doubledee Heatherly is back at Branum’s teaching children’s wear. She is a Savannah College of Art and Design graduate in Fashion Design. Her daughter Viola is her inspiration for her new itty BD designs and patterns. Come join her in a class and be-come inspired while making your little ones something fun.
ITTY BD DESIGNS TRUNK SHOWBetsy will be setting up her trunk show for you top look at her samples and order custom clothes that she will custom make for your child. All fabric MUST be purchased at Branum’s. You will pick out your fabric from the store and take it to Betsy for her to make your child something very unique and special. She will hold this trunk show on January 23 from 2pm-5pm.

Adult Garment ClassesA LITTLE SOMETHIN’ JACKETJulie Zachary In this class you will learn how to whip up several of these jackets and you will have a wardrobe stretcher that is budget and time friendly. The jacket has a slightly flared 3/4 length sleeve or full length sleeve and is designed to move easily from work to weekend. KNIT DRESSJulie Zachary The Out and About Dress was designed with YOU in mind. Yes, YOU: the everyday lady with one million errands to run, a house to keep up with, and a job to finish. This dress is loosely fitted at the waist, has 2 hem options (maxi, or knee length), and 2 sleeve options (long or elbow), and has the option for a cute little cuff on the sleeve. The neckband finish for then neckline of this dress gives a casual, yet professional look. Serger ClassesINTERMEDIATE SERGER TECHNIQUESDiann WittThis is a notebook class designed to familiarize you with tension settings, rolled hem, attaching lace, attaching ribbing and much more. We will be making many thread changes during class, therefore, you must be able to rethread your machine in 10 minutes or less.Class Fee: $70 +$15 kit feeJanuary 9 • 12pm-4pm
CLASS POLICIES Registration and Payment:We accept class sign-ups as soon as the newsletter is printed and placed on the website. Payment in full is required at the time of registration. You may register and pay: 1. In person in the store.2. By mail with a check (please include a note with the details
of the class or use registration form).3. By phone with a credit card.Cancellation:1. We reserve the right to cancel a class due to insufficient
enrollment. Every attempt will be made to give you 7 days notice if we must cancel a class. You may receive your refund by choosing one of the following methods:
a. A full cash refund. b. Transfer the class fee to another class during the
same quarter.2. No refunds will be given after the class begins. No Show
- No Refund. 3. If a class fills extremely fast, we sometimes offer a waiting
list. Please ask if you are interested.
SUPPLY LISTS:1. Supply lists are given at time of paid registration. The
cost of supplies are not included in the class fee unless so noted.
2. Please purchase your supplies before class. Supplies should be purchased at the store. We offer a discount of 10% for class supplies.
3. Please do not wait until the last minute to buy your supplies. As you know, picking out fabric takes time and we would hate for you to miss the beginning of your class. Instructors will not wait for you to begin the class.
4. Typically a minimum of 4 students is required to hold a class.
5. You may want to check with us before you buy your supplies to be sure a class is a go.
OTHER INFORMATION:1. If a class is full you may have your name placed on a
waiting list in case a student cancels.2. No make ups on sewing classes. If you miss a class or need
additional help you can make arrangements with the class instructor at her professional fee.
3. Please be considerate of others. Do not bring children to class, wear heavy perfume or use cell phones during class. Please be on time for class or better yet, come 15 minutes early to set up your sewing space. Classes begin promptly at the scheduled time. If you are unable to make the class session, please call so we will know not to expect you.
4. We do have class maximums. These may vary with the class being offered. Register early to avoid having to be placed on a waiting list.
5. The use of cell phones is disruptive to other paying students and instructors. Please wait until class breaks or step outside for calls.
6. Please mark your calendar with your classes. We do not make reminder calls. We will call if a class is cancelled or changed.

Pastel PowerThis year in $5 quilt is going to be a BLAST! Join us monthly starting January for the $5 quilt every 4th Saturday of the month. Not only will you learn new blocks and new techniques, but you will also make new friends! During the class (lecture/demo) we will show off all the new stuff in the store. Gloria has a fun, new and exciting program to share with all of you! The fist month you will pay $5 for a quilt block kit and instructions. The following month, bring your completed block and you will get your next block absolutely FREE! If your forget to bring your block, do not get it completed or miss a month that is ok; you can purchase your next block for $5. There will be 2 classes again at 9am & 10am.
