With over 30 years’ experience in the design, installation and maintenance of firedetection, nursecall, voice alarm and public address systems, Solid State is BAFE SP203accredited, an affiliated member of the NICEIC (National Inspection Council for ElectricalInstallation Contracting), the FIA (Fire Industry Association) and the IFPO (Institute of FirePrevention Officers).

We are the longest established member of a specialist group of life safety companies, oneof whom specialises in the manufacture of voice alarm equipment and whose systems arecurrently protecting millions of people worldwide. As the only installation company withinthe group, Solid State is in the unique position of understanding all aspects of interfacingvoice alarm and fire alarm equipment and is regularly called upon by its sister companiesto assist them in the selection, completion, review and maintenance of pre-launch testinstallation for all of their new products.

We offer a range of specialist services (including system design, equipment supply,installation, commissioning, verification, certification, service and maintenance) not onlyto end users and facility management companies but also to other installation companiesrequiring assistance with larger projects.

This price list applies to all UK orders placed for delivery on or after 1st September 2011 and supersedes all previousSolid State price lists.

Standard carriage is free on orders over £300.00 nett goods. Standard carriage on orders less than £300.00 nett goods willbe charged at £10.00 (UK mainland only). Carriage charges for other areas are available on request.

An on-site delivery service is available at no extra cost. However, the nature of on-site deliveries (lack of access, etc.),means that goods often have to be signed for by someone other than your selected representative. Once a signature hasbeen obtained, neither ourselves or our carrier can be held responsible for the goods. Although we will endeavour toprovide proof of delivery wherever possible, no compensation can be claimed for any consequential loss.

An inspection and restocking charge of 30% will be made on returns (minimum £5.00 per consignment).

Minimum invoice value = £20.00 + VAT. VAT is charged extra at the current rate.

Solid State has the technical expertise and project management experience to fulfil thecomplex electrical requirements of today’s multi-purpose sites ranging from a complete newinstallation to the simple upgrade of an existing system.

Our multi-skilled installation engineers are trained to exacting standards in all areas and weinsist they all complete NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Electrical Installation and attend FIA and IFPOtraining courses on a regular basis. Furthermore, our engineers are encouraged to studyElectrical Installation at HNC level and to attain NICEIC Test and Inspection Certificates.

Solid State’s status as an NSI Fire Gold Award winner and BAFE SP203 registered firm proves weare a reliable, reputable and professional company and allows us to certify our work withcertificates that are recognised by most major approval/insurance bodies.

All of the systems Solid State install are ‘open protocol’. This means that the owner of thesystem has complete control over all system modifications and maintenance.

The inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical systems is absolutely vital to ensure theyare working and in good order. Solid State's technical expertise provides a commissioningplatform that is second to none. We can commission virtually any type of life safety system tothe requirements of BAFE SP203 and can satisfy even the most demanding specifications usingsome of the most experienced engineers in the industry.

In the current climate of risk assessment, proof that your life safety systems have beendesigned, installed, commissioned and maintained to the required standards is essential. SolidState’s status as a BAFE SP203 Registered Firm allows us to issue appropriate fire certificates forevery system we work on. We also offer an advisory service to businesses seeking to complywith the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.

Verification and certification prices available on application

Solid State’s BAFE SP203 accredited service and maintenance department currently managesover 300 national, regional and single site contracts for organisations as diverse as Vue Cinemas,Cumberland Infirmary, Booths Supermarkets and Wigan & Leigh college. We offer a full 24-hour call out service across the UK mainland and will service any electrical system to therelevant British standards.

We have a wide range of maintenance contracts available to meet any requirement and wepride ourselves on our ability to offer all our clients, whatever their size, the same level ofsupport and on being able to deliver the industry’s best maintenance packages. Testament tothis is the large number of unsolicited testimonials we regularly receive and the fact that ourmaintenance contract renewal stands at over 95% per annum.

Unlike many other nationwide service and maintenance providers, our customers can speakdirectly to an experienced call-out engineer which often leads to problems being resolvedwithout the need for an emergency site visit and the extra expense that often goes with it.

Our comprehensive and cost-effective supply service is extremely popular with electricalcontractors, electrical wholesalers, local authority works departments and many otherorganisations that prefer to undertake their own electrical installations.
