THE FORUMAT A GLANCE

Dear Colleagues,

The 4th Modular Construction and Pre-Fabrication ANZ 2019 is the region’s event platform that showcase the latest techniques and technology in the modularization and prefabrication context.

Discover best practices from modular builders that have successfully built modern modular commercial and residential buildings in and out of the region. Modular construction now accounts for $4.5 billion of Australia’s $150 billion construction industry.

The 4th edition of the conference will focus on international & well-known Australian OSM & DfMA exemplars, the industry’s best practices and new innovative techniques & technologies that will strengthen and enhance the uptake of modular construction methodology in the ANZ construction industry.

The rapid population growth that Australia is experiencing has created strain on education infrastructure, especially the provision of classrooms for schools. In NSW and Victoria, the state governments are making unprecedented investment in school infrastructure, including the rollout of world-class prefab modular classrooms. Many of the other states and territories are similarly pushing this initiative.

This event, a key industry gathering of international prefab/OSM experts, master builders, offsite manufacturing practitioners, developers, suppliers, is an excellent networking opportunity not to be missed!

TRY Australia is a 135-year old social purpose, not for profit organisation, empowering young people and families through the dignity of work and education. TRY UnContained is a social enterprise that repurposes and reimagines the shell of a shipping container into high performance commercial and domestic products.

Each container conversion creates meaningful job pathways for at-risk young people while they study and complete their Certificate II in Building and Construction at TRY. One hundred percent of profits are reinvested to support TRY, while also funding social and homeless housing solutions and additional community benevolent activities.

Repurposing shipping containers is a powerful initiative assisting organisations to meet their triple bottom line and to create positive outcomes for our community. A shipping container conversion is quick to build, sustainable, affordable, easily transportable and has low environmental footprint.

Every TRY Uncontained sale positively impacts the life trajectory of a young person who may be facing barriers to employment. By involving our TRY Build students and graduates in the build process, it provides them with essential skills, confidence and a sense of achievement, which is a crucial step in their work and personal development.
