  • Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures. (Luke 24:27 NAU)

All Scripture is inspired(God breathed) by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NAU)

  • • God – has no beginning refers to Himself in “plural” “Let Us..”• Creation – Time – Space – Matter (reflect the Trinity)• Six days – 24 hours “Sun set – Sun Rise”• Man – made in the image of God. Man is designed to

live with God• Commanded – do not eat from tree of good and evil• Serpent – was used by the satan / devil.

Satan / devil will forever be linked to the serpent• 1st Sacrifice – took the punishment for sin and became their

covering • The Seed – The savior (Jesus) • Cherubim – 1st angelic being is introduced

  • How did we loose our position before God?

Eve was deceived – Adam Sinned openly

3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ (2Co 11:3 NAU)

13 For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. (1Ti 2:13-14 NAU)

  • The enemy’s goal

    • Separate us from God • Separate us from each other• Moves us to examine things without God to determine for

ourselves what we believe is right and wrong• Replace God’s instruction with our wisdom. The battle is in

the mind - not strength • To get us to sin. Once we have sinned God brings judgment

    upon us.

We are no match for Satan! Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. (Gen 3:1 NAU)

The Hebrew Word translated “Crafty” is also translated as being “prudent” and “sensible”

  • Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, "I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD." (Genesis 4:1 NAU)

  • Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper* of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. (Genesis 4:2 NAU)

  • So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the LORD of the fruit of the ground. (Genesis 4:3 NAU)

  • Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering; 5 but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. (Genesis 4:4-5 NAU)

  • Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 "If you do well, *will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it." (Genesis 4:6-7 NAU)

  • Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. (Genesis 4:8 NAU)

Satan brought division Between God and ManMan and his wifeBetween brothersAnger leading to murder

  • BE ANGRY, (Permissive Imperative) AND yet DO NOT SIN; (Present Imperative + Neg) do not let the sun go down (Present Imperative + Neg) on your anger, 27 and do not give (Present Imperative + Neg) the devil an opportunity. (Ephesians 4:26-27)

"The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly. (John 10:10)

  • Submit * therefore to God. **Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7

*ὑποτάγητε verb imperative aorist passive 2nd person plural from ὑποτάσσω **ἀντίστητε verb imperative aorist active 2nd person plural from ἀνθίστημι

  • By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks. (Hebrews 11:4 NAU)

  • Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. (Jude 1:11 NAU)

  • Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; 12 not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother's were righteous. (1 John 3:7-12 NAU)

  • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-5 NAU)

  • There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right (exousia) to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:9-13 NAU)

  • And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14 )

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6 )

  • We must overcome OUR PRIDE and our INDEPENDENCE

The Final Call Unity! A Song of Ascents, of David.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Coming down upon the beard,

Even Aaron's beard, Coming down upon the edge of his robes.

    3 It is like the dew of Hermon Coming down upon the mountains of Zion;

For there the LORD commanded the blessing-- life forever.

    (Psalm 133:1-3 NAU)

The answer is not in man's ability to see it!

Both are true! Clearly stated and supported in God's Word.

In God's Word there are Scriptures to support that GOD IS SOVEREIGN

And there are Scriptures to support thatMAN HAS FREE-WILL!

    These TWO TRUTHS

appear to be opposed to each other!Let us view these 2 truths as opposite sides of the

  • A Song of Ascents, of David. O LORD, my heart is not proud,

nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters,

Or in things too difficult for me. 2 Surely I have composed

and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me. 3 O

Israel, hope in the LORD From this time forth and forever.
