All About Parent Example

Chapter 1 – Bulldogs

Did you ever think wrinkles could be so cool? Well they are especially on dogs like Bulldogs. Bulldogs are the best kind of dogs. Keep reading to learn everything you need to know about bulldogs.

Chapter 2 - Taking Care of Your Bulldog

Your bulldog needs to get exercise. For example, you should take your bulldog to the park. Let him run around for at least 30 minutes. Also, you need to brush his coat to keep it looking nice. A coat is the bulldogs fur.

Chapter 3 – What Bulldogs Eat

Bulldogs eat many kinds of food, but you shouldn’t feed them too much. They love special kinds of food like Blue or Cesar. On the label, it says if you feed your dog the wrong food he could get sick or tired. Also, you can give your bulldog treats.

Chapter 4 – Keeping them Clean

Bulldogs need to stay clean but they don’t like to take a bath. However, you will still need to give them a bath with doggy soap. After a bath, bulldogs like to take a nap. Remember, if bulldogs are not clean they could get fleas.

Chapter 5 – Learning More

Bulldogs are the best dogs ever. If you want to learn more about a bulldog, visit a local dog shelter. Remember, you can also ask an expert at a pet store or an animal adoption agency. If you are looking for a dog, get a bulldog.

Structure

I wrote an introduction in which I named a subject and tried to interest

readers.

I used words such as and, also, for example, in addition, and remember to

show I had more to say.

I wrote a conclusion at the end to wrap up my piece.

My writing had different chapters; each chapter told different information

about a topic.

Development

I used different kinds of information in my writing such as facts, definitions, steps, and

tips.

I tried to use topic words that showed I’m an expert on the topic.

Language Conventions

I used what I knew about spelling patterns to spell a word. (blends, vowels, suffixes, diagraphs)

I spelled all the word wall and sight words correctly.

I began each sentence with a capital letter and ended the sentence with a period. Start with a

capital letter
