TheStartingPointThestatedgoalistoharmonizethecontractsofthethreebargainingunits:the4Cs,AFT,andAFSCME.Wearealsoseekingchangesthatallowtheunionstobetterrepresentthemembershipsandaddressitemsthatwillallowourmembershipstobetterserveourstudents.
TheStartingPointFirstmeetingtodiscussgroundruleswithadministrationwasonDecember9,2015.Therewereabout20negotiatingsessionsheldoverthecourseofthenext18months,allfocusedonnon-economicissuessuchaslanguagechanges,withthreeTentativeAgreementsresulting.
All4CsMembersWillVote onTwoItems
1. 4CsContractVote– determineswages,longevity,poolsofmoney,andlanguagechanges.
2. SEBACVote– determinesnegotiatedchangestopensionandhealthcare.

Protectionfromjoblossdoesnotapplyto:• Expirationofatemporaryorspecialappointment(in1styear),• Nonrenewalofanontenured employeeforperformance-relatedreasons,• Terminationofgrantorotheroutsidefundingspecifiedforaparticularposition;and• Lessthan20-hourperweekpart-timeemployees.
Employeesinthe2nd orsubsequentspecialappointmentyearontheeffectivedateofthisAgreementshallbecoveredbythisjobsecurityprovision.
