Next year’s show will also mark the 10th anniversary of the Premier National Junior Show. Dairy Oxen demonstration You won’t want to miss two days of live demonstrations of oxen at work, including displays of: Single cart Covered wagon Log sled Weighted sled Driving team with 4-wheeled wagon Log pulling and placement Big wheel (10’ diameter) log hauler Oxen will also compete in an obstacle course and will be evaluated on performance and the best matched team. Visitors will have a chance to ask questions of the teams participating in the event. The 50th celebration will also include a wine and cheese reception, recognition of the six farms who have exhibited for 50 consecutive years (listed at right), as well as sponsors and supporters of the show over the years. Foundation had successful year Bob Heilman, Executive Director of the All-American Dairy Foundation says the first years of the Foundation gave its charter members, “a great story worth telling.” Through generous support of many dairy show enthusiasts, the foundation was able to award nearly $27,500 in grants from 2010 through 2012. These funds went to the Premier National Junior Show Events, the All-American Showmanship Challenge, the All-American 4-H and FFA Judging Forum, the All-American Invitational Dairy Judging Challenge and the All-American Pennsylvania Junior Dairy Show. The following champions were named on Wednesday, Sept. 19:

Ayrshire Exhibitor Douglas E. Evans of

Sunny Acres Farm, Georgetown, N.Y., had a bright morning after picking up the Grand and Reserve Grand Championships during the Open Ayrshire Show.

Sunny Acres Rattler’s Kacie took home the Senior Championship before earning the show’s highest honor, while 5-year-old cow Sunny Acres Harmony’s was first named Reserve Senior Champion before earning the reserve grand honors.

Another Sunny Acres entry, fall heifer calf Sunny Acres Jackson’s Vanna, took home the Junior Championship title.

The Junior Reserve Championship went to Palmyra-Raigimore EL BC Gi Gi, exhibited by B. Volschenck of Hagerstown, Md.

Vales-Pride Rawhide Boson, exhibited by David Patrick of Woodbine, Md., was named Intermediate Champion. Reserve Intermediate Champion was Palmyra Bendig R Bonnie-ET, exhibited by Mark Creek of Hagerstown, Md.

The Ayrshire Show judge was Jeffrey Ziegler, Plain City, Ohio.

Brown SwissDublin Hills Treats was named

the Brown Swiss Grand and Senior champions of the National Open Show. Treats was exhibited by Elite Dairy, Ken Main and Peter Vail, of Copake Falls, N.Y., and was the first place component merit cow.

Reserve Grand Champion and

All-American Grand Champions named of Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Milking Shorthorn and Red & White Shows

Reserve Senior Champion, six-year-old Brothers Three Wisp, was also exhibited by Main and Vail.

Intermediate Champion was the first place junior three year old, Old Mill Starsky Love ET, exhibited by Amanda Bassler of Upperville, Va. Love was also named Honorable Mention Grand Champion and

Reserve Intermediate Champion was the first place junior two year old, Burlin Supreme Janell, owned by Eric and Faith Burall of New Windsor, Md.

All-American Junior Champion Brown Swiss honors went to the first place winter calf, PA Lyn-Leigh Denver Topsy, owned by Dylan Coleman of Ronks, Lancaster County, Pa. Fairdale Elite Debra, first place spring yearling Brown Swiss heifer, was named Reserve Junior Champion and was exhibited by Michael Barton from Copake Falls, N.Y.

Norm Magnuson of Lake Mills, Wis., judged the show.

GuernseyMaryland’s Walnut Ridge Noper

took home the Grand Championship title at the National Guernsey Show.

Noper, exhibited by Kaitlin G. Moser of Middletown, Md., was also crowned the show’s Senior Champion.

Reserve Grand Champion honors went to Kevin Stoltzfus of East Earl, Lancaster Co., Pa., with his entry of Warwick Manor Alymos Selma, who was also awarded the Intermediate Championship title.

Sniders Adacka Hummer, exhibited by Kendy Gable of New Enterprise, Bedford Co., Pa., was awarded the Reserve Senior Championship.

Ashley Elise Sears, took home the Reserve Intermediate Championship title with her entry Indian Acres Yogis Pear Pie-ET.

The judge for the show was Stan Chupp of Inola, Okla.

Milking Shorthorn Mi-San Acres O Lust-ET, exhibited

by David Riley of Williamsfield Ohio, was named Grand Champion of the Milking Shorthorn Open Show. ‘Lust’ was also named Intermediate Champion and the first place senior three year old.

The Reserve Grand Champion and Senior Champion was Hard Core MRB Lizzie, exhibited by Allen Hess and Keith Fisher of Smithsburg, Md.

Reserve Senior Champion was the winning five year old, Halpins Reyfene, exhibited by Melissa Halpin of Kempton Illinois. Halpin also exhibited the Reserve Intermediate champion were her junior three year old, Halpins Ruthanne.

The ‘Priceless’ Junior Champion Heifer went to Spencer Weimer of Emlenton, Venango County. Solid-Gold Mega Priceless-ET was the first place fall calf and the best Junior

Female Bred and Owned by Exhibitor. Reserve Junior Champion was the winner of the Fall Yearling heifer class with Kellogg-Bay Liriano Nettie EXP owned by Ashlynn Foster of Middleburg, Vt.

Red & WhiteCooper Galton of Roll-n-View

Farm, Nunda, N.Y., took home the Grand Championship title with his entry, MS Glad Ray Morefun – Red.

Galton also rolled to the top of the Intermediate Championship class to claim the title.

The Reserve Championship title went to Rob-Sara Ruster Tina B-Red, exhibited by Laura Emerson of Middletown, Del.

Tina was also named the Best Senior Female, bred and owned by exhibitor.

Greenlea Adv Cara-Red-ET, exhibited by Richard M. Green of Middletown, Del., was awarded the Senior Championship while Ridgedale Runway-Red-ET stole the spotlight to earn the Reserve Senior Champion title.

The judge for the show was Chad Ryan of Fond du Lac, Wis.

Ripley Farms Geo Cappucino-ET, a Guernsey heifer, brought the highest bid during the Colorful View Sale held on Monday, Sept. 17.

Cappucino, who was consigned by Ripley Farm of Cortland, New York, was purchased by John Rymph of Greenwhich, New York, for the price of $2,300.

Thirty-one lots of Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Milking Shorthorn, Jersey and Guernsey breeds were sold at the sale, averaging $1,233.

The color breed sales event, which has been a feature at the All-American Dairy Show for the past three years, was chaired by Denise Whiting and Jason Mowrey.
