4. Check to be sure all attachments are secure before turning on the tool.

5. Grip the handle with one hand, and the Housing (1C) with the other. Depress theTrigger (16C) to turn the tool on. Allow the motor to reach its full speed beforesanding. Be sure the tool is operating properly, and running smoothly beforeproceeding.

6. Apply the sanding pad to the work material at a slight angle. Move the sandingpad around the surface of the work material as needed. Do not allow the padto remain in one place as this may burn the work material. If the sander slowsdown appreciably, you are applying too much pressure. Always keep yourbody and clothing away from the moving sanding pad.

7. When you are done sanding, remove the tool from the work material, and releasepressure from the Trigger (16C). Allow the tool to come to a complete stopbefore setting it down. Disconnect the air pressure hose when the tool is not inuse.

Some Tips About Sand Paper

1. When sanding, start with a relatively coarse grit paper, and work up to a finergrit to complete the job. The grit selected depends on the job at hand. Withbare metal finishing, you may start at 100 and work up to 600 grit. With paintfinishing, you may start with 400 and work up to 2000 grit, for example. Yourchoice of grit depends on the job and your preferred method of working.NOTE: Harbor Freight Tools cannot be responsible for damage toproperty due to incorrect selection of sanding disc or grit size. Alwayspractice on scrap material before using the tool on your workpiece.

2. Sand paper works by moving a large number of sand grains in an arbitrarypattern over the work surface. Because of the Backing Pad, these will producea relatively uniform series of hills and valleys at the grain size of the grit used.Using the first grit selected, sand out any scratches or blemishes in the finish. You want to produce an even finish at the grain size of the grit being used.

CAUTION: Always wear ANSI approved safety goggles and full face shield, withdust mask or respirator while sanding.
